I would ALWAYS volunteer to read aloud. The reason is I had a hard time retaining the information to answer the questions after- I knew if I read it the teacher wouldn’t call on me for questions. I was a good reader too.
Even today I have to read things a couple times just to really grasp it and retain the information.
