It's very convenient having one's top deputy that close. The AG, DAG, and their staffs are probably all located in the same corridor. The top level of the agencies/departments I've visited are pretty nice.
It's against the rules for royals to be involved in politics. They're required to stay neutral. Most likely the Harry or the Queen has explained this to Meghan.
