Missouri lawmaker resigns for job as state child advocate
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) — A Missouri state lawmaker resigned to take over as director of the state's child services watchdog agency, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported Tuesday.
Missouri Supreme Court Chief Justice Paul Wilson and GOP Gov. Mike Parson named Republican state Rep. Becky Ruth director of the Office of Child Advocate. Her appointment still needs to be confirmed by the GOP-led Senate.
The office investigates complaints over the state's treatment of children and its handling of child abuse allegations.

One member of Bellar family pleads guilty in high-profile child abuse case
Josiah Bellar committed abusive acts against two juveniles while he was a juvenile himself and under the supervision of his parents. He was sentenced by Judge Patrick Lang to five years of community control with a four-year underlying prison sentence should he violate the terms of that control — which include that he testify against others facing charges in the case.

Feds Pay Zero Claims For Covid-19 Vaccine Injuries/Deaths

In fiscal year 2021, the U.S. government paid $246.9 million in claims for vaccine-related injuries and deaths. Not a single payout was related to Covid-19 vaccines.
Each person with a “provable” injury from a Covid vaccine could claim up to $379,000 from a special Covid vaccine fund set up by the federal government. The payout for death could be as high as $370,376.
However, according to an OpenTheBooks.com investigation, the federal government didn’t pay a penny for Covid-vaccine claims. The special fund for these claims is called the Countermeasures Injury Compensation Program (CICP).
