Omicron Film Synopsis
The movie from 1963 is about a bodysnatcher from another planet named “Omicron” who takes over a factory worker’s body. His mission is to learn as much as possible about the human race and find a weakness so his kind can invade and take over the planet.
Omicron tries to rush his mission so he can go home. To leave, he must kill the host body, but the commander needs more info and warns him that if he kills the host by his own hand he will be annihilated.
Omicron finally finds a way to take over the planet. He reports that there are two classes of people: the 1% and the workers. The elites make workers think they’re earning money but it’s just a viscous cycle where they work in the elite’s factories making things only to turn around and give their money back via loans to buy these things. He sees that the system only benefits the elites, so to take over the planet they only need to infiltrate the 1% because no one would notice much difference.
Now that Omicron has completed his mission he seeks to kill the host body so he can leave. Since he can’t kill the host himself he starts committing crimes in hopes of provoking a “suicide by cop”. The more crimes he commits the more he feels a strange sensation…the man’s conscience. This is foreign and toxic to Omicron’s species and he knows he must escape and warn his kind before they invade.
A struggle between the man and Omicron ensues….the man is trying to stop Omicron from committing crimes and killing him and he’s also trying to warn others of the impending invasion/infiltration. But of course they think he’s crazy. Ultimately, Omicron wins and the man dies.
In the end the factory directors are discussing the new draconian rules they’re putting into place: workers are not allowed to think, feel, love, or even sleep. The penalty is amputation of the head. The directors are smoking cigarettes by inhaling and exhaling all the smoke at once, indicating that their bodies have been infiltrated by the alien forces.
The end.
You can watch it here. It’s in Italian but set the subtitles/cc to “auto generate” and choose English.
