It is a shame to see Australia devolve so quickly into a totalitarian state as it has.
I visited there some years ago and found the people to be warm and welcoming. The country is beautiful.
One of the things I note about Australia is their sense of history and liberty is different than in the US. We fought on religious and legal grounds for separation from the British crown.
They, on the other hand, were a prison colony, taking the place Georgia once served before becoming the United States. Their freedom was negotiated, not hard-won.
I guess now they have the opportunity to win their freedom as we did.
Unfortunately, it looks like we may have to fight for our heritage once again.
