Jerry Judge, who acted as Johnny Depp's bodyguard for nearly 20 years, has died this week.
The burly man, who himself cameoed in many of Depp's Hollywood films, died after a lifetime of providing security to the stars.
His own security company confirmed the sad news in a statement, tweeting: "Music & Arts Founder and Managing Director sadly passed away today.
"#JerryJudge you were #mrsecurity in the #Entertainment business in the UK a one-off, nice guy, heart as big as a lion great friend over many years #RIP bud will never be forgotten."
It added: " JerryJudge mentored some of the best entertainment security operatives and teams, and put these guys in the top flight in this business. JonnyDepp and all who knew Jerry lost a great pal irreplacable ."
Johnny is yet to make any public statement about the loss of his pal, who grew much closer to him over the years than normal bodyguards and became his closest confidant.
"Jerry basically always works," a source once told People magazine of Judge's life. "He has a team of guys that help him, but he is always with Johnny.
"Protecting Johnny is his life."
Jerry was there on the fateful day Johnny was accused by his ex-wife Amber Heard of assaulting her.
In court documents filed by Amber to get a temporary restraining order against the Hollywood star, she said: "I yelled to Jerry to please help me and told him that if Johnny hit me one more time I was going to call the police.
"I heard Jerry say, 'Boss, please.' But Johnny continued screaming and breaking things, finally leaving the condominium."
Along with his work for Johnny, Jerry had also provided security for the likes of Paul McCartney, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Antonio Banderas and Julia Roberts when she was filming Notting Hill - which he appeared in briefly.
He even made a cameo in Depp's 2007 film Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber Of Fleet Street, playing a customer buying one of Todd's famous pies.
And he was credited with saving David Bowie's wife Iman when her car was shot at by looters during a trip to Somalia.
Jerry was also with Patsy Kensit after her split from ex-husband Liam Gallagher - and allegedly told the bodyguard to "keep Liam away from me".
RIP Jerry Judge.
