You're going to have a copycat threat because the Oxford shooter just gave himself up and got a ride to jail. We've already seen a school shooter in Houston, I think, walk out the back door after posting something like a $70,000 bail.

Whatever the real story is at Oxford that is circulating must be one that you'll probably find at most any school. Bully victim who just says fuck it, maybe.

Parents also no longer trust school personnel to do the right thing wrt to safety. Stories were out that kids at Oxford stayed home because they heard rumors and told their parents.

So we have to believe that no one on the school staff knew of the rumors? No parent called the school or called a friend who was a staff member to find out what was going on?

Could be the word in the pipe is that Oxford knew and decided to disregard the threat. Other schools, then, aren't going to risk even a .01% chance, now.

I'd almost think they'd have less say in what the club wants them to do medically.

They have a big money contract to, say, pitch. If they wake up with elbow pain, the club tells them what is going to be done, for example.

If they travel internationally a lot, soccer, would be the best example, there's always been shots. With the boosters now. it may not be different to them than Tetanus boosters they get for lacerations or punctures.

IOW, for many, it's not that big of a deal.

Good solution would be not to tie the money a municipality imburses to school age children in that municipality to public schools in that municipality or district.

I lived in rural areas where towns were too small to have high schools. Tax money paid tuition for several public schools in surrounding towns. Kids could pick.

This should be unlimited. Anywhere in the US, for example.

It may not cover full tuition, but it will take out a chunk and a parent won't be forced to just give his tax burden to the municipality without return if he/she chooses to school elsewhere.

So, town supplies so and so $ for a school aged child per year, to be used at the parent's discretion. No public or private school stipulations.

Like a school voucher, but I think those are for private schools.
