2 Separate meanings to me:
1) To me it meant the issue with JFK assassination. The TV show was on air live (then) during the initial reports from Dallas.

The only other meaning to me would be like the way earth spins (as the world turns). Looking down from the north pole the earth spins counter clockwise and the time zones are clockwise.
