> single fire revolver works

Thank you for the post, Anon. This type of firearm is usually referred to as 'single action'. Pulling the trigger does not cock the hammer, therefore the trigger only performs a single action - which is causing an already cocked

spring-loaded hammer to hit the projectile's primer. A single action revolver needs to be cocked before each shot.

Yes. To release a cocked hammer you must hold thumb pressure on the hammer, pull back the trigger, and gently lower the hammer with your thumb, then release the trigger.

Mr. Baldwin had to have pulled and been holding the trigger or the hammer would not have moved forward. Instead of gently lowering the hammer using his thumb - a safe de-cocking of a single action revolver - he released the hammer.

De-cocking accidents do happen (which is why muzzle safety is critical). But Mr. Baldwin does not describe a de-cocking accident. When he released the hammer he caused the weapon to fire.

Since he was not practicing muzzle safety he aimed the weapon at a person and caused the weapon to fire.

From Paul:

But food will not bring us nearer to God; we are no worse off if we do not eat, nor better off if we eat.9 But keep watching that your right to choose does not somehow become a stumbling block to those who are weak.

From Peter:

But he became very hungry and wanted to eat. While they were preparing the meal, he fell into a trance11 and saw heaven opened and something descending like a great linen sheet being let down by its four corners on the earth;12 and in it were all sorts of four-footed animals and reptiles of the earth and birds of heaven.13 Then a voice said to him: “Get up, Peter, slaughter and eat!”14 But Peter said: “Not at all, Lord, because I have never eaten anything defiled and unclean.”15 And the voice spoke again to him, the second time: “Stop calling defiled the things God has cleansed.”16 This happened a third time, and immediately it was taken up into heaven.
