Wow!
This is how BADLY Seattle Police are understaffed
an hour ago, M1 [Medic] on their way to a call comes across scanner reporting a 3 car blocking accident with a light pole, parked car and some sort of sidewalk box damaged
They stopped to see if there were injuries. No. They ask dispatcher for SPD to respond.
Dispatch is MORE understaffed than SPD [hello vax mandate]
Then the ff/medic in a sullen voice askeds the dispatcher if he should just call 911 himsel [accident had been reported an hour earlier and 1st ave in belltown was blocked entire time
The dispatcher sounding even more sullen says yes [btw, I've heard these same dispatchers for years, this one is really good and now he sounds like his puppy just died]
Anyway, end of story: I just hear SPD dispatch say they are sending one officer to this blocking accident hours later
