America has led the way in saving millions of lives around the world from the HIV/AIDS virus. Thanks to the support of lifesaving programs like the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria and the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief, or PEPFAR, more than 40 million lives have been saved, and tens of millions of people living with HIV are on treatment.
