Hundreds of DOC officers put on leave for refusing COVID jab

The Department of Justice (DOJ) is reviewing a so-called “Alternative Mueller Report” mentioned in a book by Andrew Weissmann, one of former special counsel Rober Mueller’s top prosecutors; with court filings indicating the document has been found, is now being processed, and there are plans for it to be released.

A Dec. 2 filing (pdf), first reported by Politico, shows lawyers from the Manhattan U.S. attorney’s office telling District Judge Katherine Polk Failla that officials have “located and begun processing” the document that Weissmann was referring to in his book, “Where Law Ends: Inside the Mueller Investigation.”

Assistant U.S. Attorney Jennifer Jude wrote in the filing that primary processing of the document will wrap up by the end of January 2022 and that the Justice Department intends to release “all non-exempt portions” of the report to The New York Times, which filed a FOIA request to obtain it and later sued the DOJ to prompt its release.

Weissman, who worked on Mueller’s probe into alleged Russian interference in the 2016 election and expressed dissatisfaction with the final version of the special counsel’s report, wrote in his book that he had all members of Mueller’s team “write up an internal report memorializing everything we found, our conclusions, and the limitations on the investigation, and provided it to the other team leaders as well as had it maintained in our files.”

Mueller’s report concluded there was insufficient evidence to establish a conspiracy between members of the Trump campaign and the Russian government to sway the 2016 election. Then-Attorney General William Barr said in a letter characterizing Mueller’s findings that the special counsel found “no collusion” between the Trump team and Russia, while former President Donald Trump described the probe as a “witch hunt” and a “hoax.”

While it is unclear what new insights the alternative report might provide, the New York Times said in its lawsuit (pdf) that the document is of “immense public interest” as it “may provide a more complete explanation of the scope” of Mueller’s report and that the existence of an alternative version “suggests that there was important facts or findings omitted from the original.”

The Manhattan U.S. attorney’s office said in the filing that, after primary processing of the alternative version is complete, it will be sent to other departments within the DOJ for consultation.

Residents flee massive ash cloud from erupting volcano

A volcano erupted on the Indonesian island of Java on Saturday, reportedly obscuring the sun with a massive cloud of ash, and sending locals into a panic.

A clip on social media has captured people, who live at the foot of Semeru volcano, fleeing in fear ahead of a cloud of black ash descending from the 3,676-meter-tall mountain.

The author of the footage is heard shouting “Allahu Akbar” (God is great) in face of this truly apocalyptic sight.

The ash cloud had reportedly risen some 15,000 meters in the air, prompting a warning to airlines. Media said it completely blocked out the sun in areas near the eruption.

There have been no reports so far of injuries or fatalities as a result of the volcanic activity. Rescuers have headed out to the site to assist those in distress.

Semeru is an active volcano in the East Java province. More than 50 eruptions have been recorded since 1818, the latest, until now, taking place in January. Indonesia is located on the so-called 'Ring of Fire' – an arc of volcanoes and fault lines in the Pacific Ocean – and so earthquakes and eruptions are quite common for the archipelago nation of 270 million.

The Proterra Scandal Deepens: Kamala Harris, Pete Buttigieg Team up to Promote Electric Bus Company Mired in Jennifer Granholm Connections

Vice President Kamala Harris and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg joined forces on Thursday to promote Proterra, a Burlingame, California-based electric bus company that Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm previously sat on the board of and held stock in, which garnered her $1.6 million when she finally divested them 157 days after her nomination.

This happened during an event at Charlotte Area Transit System in Charlotte, North Carolina that was meant to tout the “marquee legislation” in President Joe Biden’s legislative agenda — the infrastructure bill and the reconciliation package — from two of Biden’s highest-profile cabinet members.

While at the event, not only were the Proterra busses used as a backdrop but for their event, but Harris even sat in the driver’s seat and honked the horn with Buttigieg in the back and sang, “The wheels on the bus go round and round,” which an NBC-affiliated television station, WYFF, caught on camera. A pool reporter with the vice president reported Harris called the busses “very user-friendly” and was amazed over how quick the breaks work on the busses.

However, this is not the first time Proterra or Proterra related products have been on the center stage during an event with officials from the Biden administration. Granholm — who oversees moving the country toward an electric vehicle transportation system and enjoys newfound powers after the passage of the infrastructure package — along with the administration has been criticized for promoting Proterra in their official capacities.

Breitbart News extensively reported on the question of Granholm’s relationship with Proterra came under scrutiny again on April 20, when President Biden raised the company’s profile by virtually touring Proterra’s Greenville, South Carolina, factory to support the administration’s push for electric buses. The day before, on April 19, Harris toured Thomas Built Buses, a subsidiary of Daimler, heavily invested in Proterra. Both of which happened before Granholm sold her stake in Proterra, 88 days after her confirmation and 157 days after her nomination, where she reportedly netted a capital gain of $1.6 million, according to the Department of Energy.

Thousands of AT&T customers in the US infected by new data-stealing malware

Malware exploits 2017 vulnerability in a widely used network edge device.

Thousands of networking devices belonging to AT&T Internet subscribers in the US have been infected with newly discovered malware that allows the devices to be used in denial-of-service attacks and attacks on internal networks, researchers said on Tuesday.

The device model under attack is the EdgeMarc Enterprise Session Border Controller, an appliance used by small- to medium-sized enterprises to secure and manage phone calls, video conferencing, and similar real-time communications. As the bridge between enterprises and their ISPs, session border controllers have access to ample amounts of bandwidth and can access potentially sensitive information, making them ideal for distributed denial of service attacks and for harvesting data.

Researchers from Qihoo 360 in China said they recently spotted a previously unknown botnet and managed to infiltrate one of its command-and-control servers during a three-hour span before they lost access.

“However, during this brief observation, we confirmed that the attacked devices were EdgeMarc Enterprise Session Border Controller, belonging to the telecom company AT&T, and that all 5.7k active victims that we saw during the short time window were all geographically located in the US,” Qihoo 360 researchers Alex Turing and Hui Wang wrote.

They said they have detected more than 100,000 devices accessing the same TLS certificate used by the infected controllers, an indication that the pool of affected devices may be much bigger. “We are not sure how many devices corresponding to these IPs could be infected, but we can speculate that as they belong to the same class of devices the possible impact is real,” they added.

Default credentials strike again

The vulnerability being exploited to infect the devices is tracked as CVE-2017-6079, a command-injection flaw that penetration tester Spencer Davis reported in 2017 after using it to successfully hack a customer’s network. The vulnerability stemmed from an account in the device that, as Davis learned from this document, had the username and password of “root” and “default.”

Because the vulnerability gives people the ability to remotely gain unfettered root access, its severity rating carried a 9.8 out of a possible 10. A year after the vulnerability came to light, exploit code became available online.

But it’s not clear if AT&T or EdgeMarc manufacturer Edgewater (now named Ribbon Communications) ever disclosed the vulnerability to users. A document available by FTP here, shows the vulnerability was fixed in December, 2018, more than 19 months after Spencer disclose it. It appears the patch required manual updates, a process that can be tedious.

An AT&T spokesman said: “We previously identified this issue, have taken steps to mitigate it and continue to investigate. We have no evidence that customer data was accessed.” He didn’t elaborate on when AT&T identified the threats, what the mitigation steps are, whether they were successful, or if the company could rule out data access. The spokesman didn’t respond to a follow-up email.

Qihoo 360 is calling the malware EWDoor, a play on it being a backdoor affecting Edgewater devices. Functions supported by the malware include:

Turkey indicts 16 people suspected of spying for Israel's Mossad

Istanbul's Public Prosecutor on Friday indicted 16 people suspected of spying for Israeli intelligence agency Mossad, Turkish Daily Sabah reported.

According to Arab48, the Turkish news website reported that 15 suspects are Palestinian, all currently in prison. The 16th suspect is Israeli Arab citizen, Ahmad Ziyad, who runs the network while living in Germany.

According to the indictment, the Mossad spying network consists of five lone cells. Each could receive a 20-year prison sentence should the court accept the Public Prosecutor's claims.

According to the Turkish daily, the second important person in the network is Abdul Kader Barakat, accused of passing money from Ziyad to the other suspects.

Other suspects were named, including Abdul Rahman Nawa, who wore glasses fitted with a camera to take pictures of certain known people.

Mohammad Salhab is also part of the network and collected information on Turkish charities with connections to Palestinian NGOs.

Raed Ashour, according to the Public Prosecutor, has worked as a spy for Mossad between 1997 and the time he was detained.

In October, the newspaper reported that members of a spy network working with Mossad had been detained.

Israel and Turkey have not yet issued official statements on the issue.

When asked by Israeli Channel 12 whether Turkey had exaggerated the issue, former Deputy Head of Mossad and current MK Ram Ben-Barak replied, "Yes".

He said that he would not explain how Mossad works, but urged: "The issue should be given importance proportional to its size."

'Laptop from Hell' author: Biden lied about not knowing of 'Hunter's overseas business dealings'

"I think all you need to know about Burisma is that when Joe Biden stopped being vice president, Burisma cut Hunter Biden's salary in half," Miranda Devine said.

President Biden "lied" on the campaign trail "when he said that he knew nothing about his son Hunter's overseas business dealings," alleges Miranda Devine, author of "Laptop from Hell: Hunter Biden, Big Tech, and the Dirty Secrets the President Tried to Hide."

Biden "met Hunter's business partners from overseas multiple times" when he was vice president, including "Mexicans and Ukrainians and Russians and Chinese and Kazakhstanis," Devine told the John Solomon Reports podcast on Thursday.

He met some of them in Beijing, others at Cafe Milano and the Naval Observatory, the vice presidential residence, in Washington, D.C.

Biden also met with Hunter's former business partners Tony Bobulinski and Devon Archer. He took a selfie with the latter in the White House, which Burisma, "the corrupt Ukrainian energy company" that was paying both Hunter and Archer, posted on their website, Devine said.

"I think all you need to know about Burisma is that when Joe Biden stopped being vice president, Burisma cut Hunter Biden's salary in half," she added.

Now Hunter is "the closest and most important adviser to Joe Biden, and he is in and out of the White House, in and out of the sort of weekend White House in Delaware, all the time," Devine said.

She explained that Hunter Biden's laptop, abandoned at a Delaware computer repair shop, shows how much his and his father's finances were intertwined, how they know "everything about each other's business," have "joint bank accounts, shared debit cards," and how Hunter paid "for at least some of Joe's sort of household bills — maintenance on his Delaware mansion."

"[T]here are emails," she continued, "where there are these overdue bills for Joe Biden's Delaware mansion — whether it's sort of fixing a retaining wall or painting a fence or fixing the shutters or replacing the air conditioning — you know, several thousand dollars for each bill from local Delaware contractors.

"And these bills, some of them were like months overdue. I mean, I think, from what I hear, the Bidens weren't very good at paying their bills on time."

Biden, she said, "never has seemed to be able to keep truth from fiction straight in his head" as he has claimed to "being the poorest man in Congress" and "a humble working-class kid from Scranton," which is "just so at odds with the facts as we see them" by looking at "the life of privilege that his family leads."

Biden DHS Withholds Afghan Refugee Report

White House estimates up to 95,000 Afghans will be resettled in U.S.

The Biden administration has yet to present to Congress a report detailing the number of Afghan refugees in the United States and on overseas military bases—in violation of a law that required those disclosures by Dec. 1.

A provision in a government funding bill passed Sept. 30 required Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas to produce a detailed accounting of Afghan refugees both in the United States and abroad to Congress within 60 days. The Washington Free Beacon has learned that Congress has yet to receive any report from DHS.

The violation of a congressionally mandated deadline comes as more than 124,000 people were airlifted out of Afghanistan by Aug. 30, the last day of the United States' presence in the country. Of those, the White House says it anticipates up to 95,000 Afghans will be resettled in the United States. Many of the Afghans who arrived in the United States this fall lacked identification paperwork, raising terrorism and public safety concerns. The Free Beacon reported in September that Afghan refugees who arrived in the United States did not receive COVID-19 tests before departing Kabul.

Senate Republicans, such as James Lankford (Okla.), criticized the Biden administration's lack of compliance with the law at a time when Democrats are asking for $7 billion in additional funding for Afghanistan resettlement efforts.

"The Homeland Security Committee has not held a single public hearing on Afghan refugees or DHS oversight. Not one Biden administration official has testified under oath to the Homeland Security Committee on this process, even though the Biden administration has made DHS the lead agency on the resettlement process," Lankford said in a statement. "This is continued unchecked federal taxpayer spending with no oversight and no end in sight."

The report was mandated to provide the exact number of Afghan refugees in the United States, overseas military bases, and third-party countries. DHS was also required to provide "the number of Afghan evacuees at overseas bases or other staging areas who have been flagged as potential security concerns or risks."

Biden's chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan earned bipartisan criticism, with lawmakers questioning whether the White House was prepared for a flood of refugees desperate to avoid living under Taliban rule. Thousands of Afghans have already been resettled throughout the United States, although details about their identities are relatively unknown.

In September, two Afghan refugees were arrested on assault charges related to incidents at a Wisconsin military base. The following month, the Biden administration blocked a bipartisan delegation of lawmakers from entering a refugee facility in Qatar—a move which prompted anger from Democrats such as Rep. Lou Correa (D., Calif.), who said he was "furious."

A Free Beacon report revealed the Biden administration also refused to make public an annual report of immigrants violating the terms of their visas. Both former presidents Barack Obama and Donald Trump posted that report on the DHS website for at least the previous five years.

Australians are being taken from their homes by police, locked up in covid quarantine camps, threatened with giant fines if they step too far outside their cells and offered Valium to get them to quietly submit.

Hayley Hodgson, 26, moved to Darwin from Melbourne to escape the never-ending lockdowns — only to find herself locked up in a Covid Internment Camp without even having the virus.

She’s just returned from a 14-day detention at Howard Springs, the 2000-capacity Covid camp outside Darwin to which regional Covid cases are transported by the authorities. In an exclusive interview with Freddie Sayers, she recounted her experiences.

It all began when a friend of hers tested positive. She recounts how investigators came to her home shortly afterwards, having run the numberplate of her scooter to identify her as a ‘close contact’. They asked if she had done a Covid test, and in the moment she lied and said she had, when she in fact had not yet. This set in train an extraordinary series of events.

“So then the police officers blocked my driveway,” she says. “I walked out and I said, “what’s going on, are you guys testing me for COVID? What’s happening?” They said, “no, you’re getting taken away. And you have no choice. You’re going to Howard Springs. You either come with us now, and we’ll put you in the back of the divvy van. Or you can have a choice to get a ‘COVID cab’… I just said, “I don’t consent to this. I don’t understand why I can’t just self-isolate at home, like a lot of other people are doing.” And they just said, “we’ve just been told from higher up where to take you. And that’s all that there is.”

She was ordered to pack a bag and was told that she could be released once she tested negative. Collected in the back of a rented van, she was then transported to Howard Springs. On arrival, she was told that she would have to stay there for the full 14 days:

You literally get put on the back of a golf buggy with your bags. And these people are in hazmat suits and everything. They don’t want to come near you because they think you’re infectious. And they literally drop you to your room. And they leave you. They don’t come and say anything, they don’t check up, they don’t do anything. You get delivered your meals once a day. And you are just left.

Australia Pfizer Covid vaccines for children aged 5-11 reportedly approved by TGA

Children aged 5-11 could be vaccinated against Covid before school returns next year, with a key hurdle about to be cleared.

The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) is expected to announce on Sunday that it has provisionally approved Pfizer’s Covid-19 vaccine to be administered to children between the ages of five and eleven.

According to News Corp publications, the federal government plans to start rolling out the vaccine to kids in that age bracket from January 10, before school returns. They will receive a smaller dose than those aged 12 and over, about one-third the size.

ATAGI, the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation, will now consider its advice on how to conduct the rollout.

“As we have done throughout the pandemic, we will act on medical advice to ensure all those who wish to receive a vaccine will have the opportunity to do so, wherever they are across Australia,” said Health Minister Greg Hunt.

Australia is well prepared for any scenario recommended by ATAGI and our government has been working closely with the manufacturer Pfizer, vaccine providers and states and territories to ensure Australian children will have access to this safe and effective vaccine as a priority.”

California To Cut Water To Cities And Farmland Amid Persisting Drought

A severe drought has ravaged every county in California for seven months, forcing state officials to restrict water delivery next year to millions of Californians and hundreds of thousands of acres of farmland, according to Bloomberg.

Above-average temperatures and the lack of precipitation began in early February 2020, and by the summer, conditions worsened following heatwave after heatwave. Some of the state’s largest reservoirs registered near or at record-low levels, which prompted some to believe state officials were preparing to announce the first-ever federally declared water shortage. Dry conditions also sparked one of the worst fire seasons on record as more than 8,000 fires charred 3 million acres.

The California Department of Water Resources is now prioritizing water delivery as the drought will persist well into 2022. Water delivery for 27 million Californians and three-quarters of a million acres of farmland will be affected.

“Despite a wet start to the water year, conditions have dried out since that first storm and we are still planning for a below-average water year,” Karla Nemeth, director of the department, said in a statement. ”

“That means we need to prepare now for a dry winter and severe drought conditions to continue through 2022,” Nemeth said.

According to the U.S. Drought Monitor, much of the Golden State is in severe drought with large pockets of extreme and exceptional drought.

An FDA official demanded Google censor a YouTube video the agency didn't like

Federal efforts to censor social media extend past discussions with companies like YouTube over broad guidelines about Covid-19 “misinformation” to specific demands for suppression of individual posts, an email from an FDA official reveals.

In the April 30 email, the Food and Drug Administration director of social media, Brad Kimberly, told a Google lobbyist about that the agency expected YouTube to pull a video touting the potential of a new monoclonal antibody treatment for Covid. (Google owns YouTube.)

“Overall, the video is very problematic when it comes to COVID misinformation,” Kimberly wrote to the lobbyist, Jan Fowler Antonaros. “This video should [emphasis added] be pulled.”

YouTube initially declined to remove the video. However, it has since been taken offline.

How often the FDA has made other censorship demands is unknown, because the agency is apparently hiding the existence of its efforts in response to Freedom of Information Act requests.

In October, I asked the FDA and several government agencies to disclose both their internal discussions about me and their communications with social media companies like Twitter and YouTube about censoring Covid “misinformation” in general.

An elderly Greek Orthodox priest shouted 'Pope, you are a heretic' as Pope Francis was entering the Orthodox Archbishopric in Athens today and was taken away by police, a reminder of the lingering distrust between the two divided churches.

Video footage showed the man, who was dressed in black robes and a hat and had a long white beard, shouting the words in Greek outside the building before police bundled him away.

Witnesses said he shouted loud enough for the pope to hear the commotion - during which, the man appeared to have fallen while being taken away and was lifted up by police.

Francis arrived in Greece today for a three-day visit that Greek Catholics hope will bring the Eastern and Western churches closer together.

Christianity split into the Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox churches in 1054 in what is referred to as the Great Schism, and for centuries relations were rocky.

In his address to the archbishop, Beatitude Ieronymos II, Francis asked forgiveness in the name of the Roman Catholic Church for its part in the historical wrongs that led to the breakup.

Rand Paul on Fauci: Live Your Life, Ignore This Man — ‘Let’s Hope He Can Be Gone as Soon as Possible’

It is not a secret that Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) does not think very highly of National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases director Dr. Anthony Fauci.

However, while Paul continues to have doubts about Fauci’s insights and advice, he urged viewers of FNC’s “Hannity” to ignore Fauci on Friday.

“Virtually none of the edicts or the promulgations that come from Fauci’s mouth are based in science at all,” he said. “Take the idea that we’re now going to test the day of travel. The rapid test is accurate about between 30 and 50% if you don’t have symptoms. So most people traveling, if they know they’re sick, are going to not travel. So, most of the people we’re talking about are traveling are without symptoms. The test is 30 to 50% accurate. The Omicron variant is already across the United States and across the world. No travel ban is going to stop it, and no amount of testing is going to stop it.”

“But think about this — Fauci now says if you know someone’s been vaccinated, you don’t have to wear a mask next to him,” Paul continued. “So you see him at one of these glittering Hollywood parties the other day, and it’s like, oh, if I don’t know the person, I put a mask on, if I know them. Well, he doesn’t know their vaccine status. How idiotic is that? Oh, I don’t know that person, so I’m going to put my mask on. But now I’m going to take it off because I know that person. He doesn’t know who’s vaccinated or not by looking at them. It’s a ridiculous standard. But here’s the bottom line people have been vaccinated or people who’ve gotten the disease naturally do have a semblance of protection and should feel comfortable going about their daily lives.”

“Let’s not live in fear because Dr. Fauci is promulgating things that are unscientific just to scare you,” he added. If you’ve been vaccinated or if you’ve had the disease, live your life and ignore this man and let’s hope he can be gone as soon as possible.”
