SAM Heughan has snapped up a £1million luxury farmhouse built in 1775 - the same year as the new series of his show Outlander.
The 41-year-old actor’s eye was taken by the four-bedroom pad dating back to America’s War of Independence.

Interior photos of the converted C-list pad near Glasgow reveal it has stylish modern decor and features including a cosy fireplace and outdoor patio area.
The property also boasts a double garage, a luxury kitchen with a trendy island table and a swanky bathroom with a huge tub.
Official records show the house went up 246 years ago, when America was rebelling against British colonial rule - an event that forms the backdrop to time-travel hit Outlander’s sixth series.
One fan of the show said: “What a coincidence that Sam bought this house when the show’s set in the 18th century.
“Given that Outlander is all about the past it’s no surprise he was drawn to this house.
“Fans of the show will love the fact that it was being built at the same time as the real events of the new series were taking place.”

Outlander is due back on TV screens next year in a highly anticipated return.
The season started filming last year only to be delayed by the pandemic until it resumed in February.

Shooting was finished in May at Wardpark Studios in Cumbernauld.
Sam, from Balmaclellan, Dumfriesshire, admitted the new series - filmed during winter - was the toughest he has experienced since he shot to fame playing Highland warrior Jamie Fraser in 2013.
He said: “It’s only eight episodes but it was one of the hardest as we were shooting during a pandemic. A lot of factors made it pretty difficult because of Covid.”
