Hospitals implementing COVID protocol. It was more profitable to work out a deal with the Gov't to give them 40k per ventilator use. Keep in mind, COVID (coronaviruses) are real. Everyone gets them from time to time. Flu probably mixed in, older people with heart conditions getting pneumonia, but the virus is real. It just wasn't nearly as deadly for a majority of the population as they'd hoped for, so hospitals had to step in and do the dirty work the virus couldn't.
