A notable in bread #19182
about 18 years ago anon was fascinated as a smoker about the abundance of internet sites and blogs fighting the infringement of governments world wide clamping down on the rights of bars, restaurants etc to choose whether they would allow smokers or choose to be a non smoking premises. It seemed to be a tyrannical overreach. To back that up there were many interesting research articles and arguments. One group of arguments were linked to G4 summits in the 1960s discussing the concerns of prolific nuclear testing after the 2nd WW and whether that could be linked to rising cases of cancer accumulating towards the end of the 50's. G4 research money was poured into finding the culprit, preferably not nuclear testing…and they came up with diesel (US said no fucking way…) …..and tobacco - believe but not sure that the choice of tobacco came from a thinktank like the UK Travistock or a US thinktank (the one that came up with the Prisoners dilemma?? Rand?} solely based on the usefulness of its divisionary power right down to the single unit of a family. Been searching since about 4 years to find those sources again but all those websites, docs, research are gone or hidden. Would love to find that information back because this all seems to link together with the slow by minimal steps of shutting down rational discourse and stimulating division on every front that started with tobacco.
