>I believe what Rittenhouse is upset about, is that Wood’s group used his name to raise $2 million
The $2 million came from Woods #FightBack which had been formed to raise money to fight the fraud in the 2020 election.
#FightBack had about $1 million in it when Wood decided to repurpose #fightBack to raise the $2 million bail. Wood had to let previous donors know of the change, and raise more, which he did. The last $150,000 came in as a loan from Ricky Schroder.
Rittenhouse's attorneys told Wood he could bring the money personally to post bail, or wire it to them. Wood wired it, and Rittenhouse's bail was posted.
Wood has the bookkeeping and has posted it several times. Rittenhouse was released on bail.
After Rittenhouse started trial, the $2 million didn't come back. That's the issue, and Wood is on the hook for the $150,000 Schroder loan.
On a personal level, although I don't think Wood used Rittenhouse's name to collect money, so what if he did?
Did Rittenhouse's ass get sprung out of jail? Was there some weird stipulation that bail money could only come from Wood? How were all the others volunteer/free outfits doing raising money in a cancel culture?
I don't remember Rittenhouse bitching about some "pro" raising his bail for profit when he got sprung. The volunteers, obviously, weren't going to do shit. File that revelation in the, "You get what you pay for", folder.
Again, I don't believe Wood profited off raising the bail, just saying that you needed a pro organizer/fundraiser to get anything off the ground in that environment, and at the very least, there may very well be accrued expenditures, bookkeepers/auditors, for example, although Wood doesn't seem to have charged for that.
