All these reports of planes from Russia and America are noise. Now, I only know Navy and Marine pilots and can not speak about Air Force pilots. All I know, and all I've been told, are stories about American and Russian fighter jocks meeting up in the sky. Who's the aggressor? We jocks didn't give a shit. We engaged. (yes, radio contact was engaged, giggles were heard). We played the game, can't describe it, but it was definitely man vs. man, but we never let go of the stick. We just flew, tried to get into position where the other was caught. Was serious at first and then nothing but giggles. Did a couple of moves and then got close, one wing time a meter above the other and gave each other a salute or thumbs up. Saw each others eyes, made friends for life.

Thanks anon. Can remember when we our ship was taken by a pilot and we went into dock at Montreal. We coming in, a Russian ship coming out, both doing maybe 2-3 knots. Officers on deck standing at attention. Middies and sailors waving back and forth. Nothing but smiles. Saw one enlisted sailor throw his cap like a frisby and trade hats with a Russian sailor. Never forget it, we were that close. (thinking about it now, over 5 decades later, I wish the Russian ship would have stayed a day longer, what a great time we American sailors and the Russian sailors would have had in Montreal.
