Really looks to me like Russia is covering for Israel. If Israel goes into Lebanon, Syria and Iran, Putin will freeze, literally, any EU response to protect Iran. No gas is a bitch in winter. Pretty sure there's a lot of EU nuke tech in Iran.
I'm going with a pipeline war. Iran and Qatar want a route to the EU. They need Iraq, Syria, Turkey and, maybe Ukraine.
Russia doesn't want that competition, or to be leveraged by that particular lobby if the pipeline comes to be. I think Israeli natgas fields could lead up to a EU pipeline, as well, but Israel & Russia could cut a deal on north/south EU service, for example.

I think Brandon's down for the count on this. Israel is going to finish the Iran threat, and Russia will hold the EU at bay.
As far as the US is concerned, I don't think anyone will buy US involvement, and not sure, but with the fallout from the vax mandate the military may need replenishing with a draft if they want to get involved on the ground. Brandon wouldn't be able to pull that off, IMO.
