China Creates "Humanized Pigs" To Be Used In COVID Research

In the years before COVID, the most visible testament to how far Beijing was willing to push its scientists past the bounds of what the international community deemed "acceptable" was its gene-editing prowess. A few years ago, one Chinese scientist shocked the world, and even wound up imprisoned in his home country for making the CCP look bad, when he unveiled the world's first gene-edited human babies. The twin girls had their genetic material altered in utero to make them immune to their father's HIV infection.

We're surprised that doesn't come up more during discussions about Beijing's rogue scientific endeavors - discussions that have become all the more common since COVID first burst out of Wuhan two years ago.

Nobody knows where those gene-edited girls are now (the Chinese government won't say), but Beijing has apparently found a new project for its best gene scientists: the country's largest research institution has reportedly developed mutant "humanoid pigs" that are susceptible to the human strain of the coronavirus using the world's premier gene editing technology.

Once developed, the pigs will be used as test subjects as scientists test new remedies being developed to fight COVID. Though on this the Global Times, one of Beijing's many state-controlled newspapers, didn't go into much detail.

A study published in August showed the researchers at the Institute of Microbiology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences explained how the scientists used CRISPR, a gene-editing tool, to remove the genetic protections that allow the pigs to reduce the human virus. The project clearly has the full backing of the CCP: the CAS research institution is the world’s largest organization of its kind and a formal arm of the Chinese government.

Why pigs? The Global Times, a mouthpiece for the Chinese government, actually has a pretty cogent explanation.

The existing cell lines and animal models on guinea pigs and some primates used for simulation of COVID-19 infection cannot capture the key characteristics of human physiology and therefore limit the accuracy of test on efficacy of vaccines and drugs.

We suppose they're as good a host as any farm animal. They might even kill two birds with one stone if the unused pigs can then be eaten during the next outbreak of Pig Ebola.

Lobbyists Make Big Money from Countries Seeking Surplus U.S. Vaccines

The pandemic has been very good business for Washington, D.C.’s lobbying class. Foreign nations are willing to spend big on lobbying to buy access to American-made vaccines.

As Politico reports, in May the government of Kenya contracted the services of K Street firm Rational 360, which counts among its top lobbyists Patrick Dorton, former special assistant to President Bill Clinton, and Joe Lockhart, Clinton’s former press secretary.

On May 17, the Biden White House announced that it planned to donate 80 million U.S. vaccine doses to the rest of the world, vowing to continue to distribute “excess supply” of the vaccine to other countries as it became available.

At the time, the federal government had doubled its goal of distributing 100 million shots and had launched a new goal of giving at least one shot to 70 percent of Americans by the 4th of July.

But in Kenya, less than 2 percent of the population had gotten even a first shot by mid-May. This prompted the country’s leaders to employ the assistance of D.C.-based lobbyists.

On Kenya’s behalf, Rational 360 connected with Gayle Smith, the State Department’s coordinator for global Covid-19 response and health security, along with White House chief of staff Ron Klain, in an effort to discuss shipping surplus second-dose vaccines to Kenya.

In August, the United States donated its first shipment of 880,460 doses of vaccines to Kenya.

Other countries have taken similar action to get a hold of the shot. Politico notes:

The competition for scarce vaccine doses began even before any were approved for use, and intensified in the early months of 2021, when the shots began rolling out. And even though rich countries pledged to donate more than a billion worth of vaccines to low- and middle-income countries, many countries and territories remained antsy. The list of foreign governments that reported using their K Street connections in vaccine procurement efforts thus far this year includes the Republic of Ghana, Kurdistan, the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, and Barbados. But there could be more. A lag in the lobbying filings, disclosed under the Foreign Agents Registration Act, means that only activities up through October or earlier are currently disclosed.

In June, Arent Fox reached out to Melisa Thombley, an attorney for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, on behalf of the Kurdistan Regional Government to ask about “eligibility conditions for waiver from HHS/CDC to ship unused COVID-19 vaccines to Kurdistan.”

That same month, Gephardt Group Government Affairs, which is led by former Democrat Congressman Richard Gephardt, got in touch with Michael Schiffer (a professional staff member on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee) to discuss sending vaccine donations to Taiwan.

Less than two weeks later, 2.5 million vaccine doses were shipped to the island nation.

“By definition, when organizations or countries are competing for a scarce commodity—it just couldn’t be made fast enough — they’re going to use any resource they have to try to get what they” need, said a lobbyist working to acquire surplus American vaccine doses for a foreign country. “They look around and say who do we know and let’s make sure they know the request.”

Oxford School Officials Accused of Destroying Shooting Evidence: Lawyer

School officials at Oxford High School in Michigan were told to preserve social media pages and other evidence that were allegedly being destroyed or deleted.

“Not only did defendants fail to take necessary steps to preserve the evidence, but they willfully destructed the evidence by deleting the webpages and social media accounts,” attorney Nora Hanna wrote in a filing on Friday, according to the Detroit News. “Plaintiffs cannot continue to be blindsided by the defendants by having to search for what evidence is being destroyed or altered.”

Hanna is among several lawyers who are representing two survivors who filed a $100 million lawsuit against Oxford High School, located in Oakland County. Last week, 15-year-old high school student Ethan Crumbley allegedly shot and killed several of his classmates, but the lawsuit stipulates that Oxford High staff were partially responsible for the incident.

U.S. District Judge Terrence Berg granted the request to preserve the records, ordering Oxford High School officials—including Superintendent Timothy Throne and High School Principal Steven Wolf—to preserve electronically stored records.

Hanna represents two sisters—17-year-old Riley Franz and 14-year-old Bella Franz—who attend Oxford High School. Another lawyer, Geoffrey Fieger, filed two lawsuits on behalf of their parents, Jeffery and Brandi Franz.

The plaintiffs’ attorneys are also asking several companies and agencies such as Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, the FBI, the Department of Justice, and the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office to preserve any records they have related to the shooting. Attorneys asked to save posts with the Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram hashtags #OxfordStrong, #OxfordSchoolShooting, and #OxfordShooting.

Trump Talks Obama, China, and More, with Bill O'Reilly in Florida

While media reports focused on Trump supposedly expressing admiration for his presidential predecessor “after years of criticizing and insulting him,” the 45th president also blamed Barack Obama for causing “tremendous division and hatred” in the country.

Despite the crowd booing Obama’s name, Trump said he “liked him” and added that he thought the 44th president was “smart and sharp.” Trump said he doesn’t believe rumors that Obama is secretly running the country for Biden, because Obama likes to golf too much and therefore would not be involved.

Trump reportedly had nothing complimentary to say about current President Joe Biden.

As a candidate in 2016, Trump said, among other claims, that Obama was the “founder of ISIS,” and “one of the worst presidents” in U.S. history.

Despite contentious comments and Obama’s ongoing disdain for Trump and his supporters, he wrote his successor an Inauguration Day letter five years ago that Trump said was “beautiful.”

O’Reilly and Trump discussed an array of issues, from foreign policy and the economy to the Jan. 6 riots — where the former president said Speaker Nancy Pelosi turned down his recommendation for 10,000 National Guardsmen to police the area — and China’s role in COVID-19. Trump believes Beijing owes the world for their lack of reaction to the COVID-19 pandemic, including reparations.

“They have to pay a price for the damage they caused,” he said. “They didn’t let the world know about it. They didn’t tell people to keep up their guard. They guarded China.”

Crazy: MSNBC and The Atlantic Claim ‘30 Million People’ Ready to Take Up Arms for Trump

One would think that controlling the presidency, the Senate, and the House would make Leftists happy, but an article published Monday in The Atlantic and amplified Sunday on MSNBC shows that despite all their electoral success, they’re more mendacious, hateful, and paranoid than ever.

Ever since Old Joe Biden started pretending to be president of the United States, the Left has been working assiduously to demonize and destroy all opposition to his agenda and to portray Donald Trump and his supporters as enemies of democracy, of freedom, and of all that is good. First, there was the Jan. 6 “insurrection.” No one was killed except a Trump supporter and Trump himself called for peaceful protest, but in the Left’s febrile propaganda, this has become a more serious threat than anything since the British burned down the White House during the War of 1812.

Then there is the ongoing demonization of Trump supporters as “white supremacists” and Biden’s handlers’ repeated insistence, despite a complete lack of supporting evidence, that “white supremacists” constitute the greatest terror threat the nation faces today. And now comes The Atlantic portraying Trump’s supporters as ready to destroy our free society at a word from their master, with MSNBC gleefully echoing this nonsense.

The Atlantic’s farrago of half-truths, lies, and propaganda was called “Trump’s Next Coup Has Already Begun,” and it builds an incredible castle of sand upon the Left’s Jan. 6 mythology. “If the plot succeeds,” The Atlantic’s Barton Gellman wrote breathlessly, “the ballots cast by American voters will not decide the presidency in 2024. Thousands of votes will be thrown away, or millions, to produce the required effect. The winner will be declared the loser. The loser will be certified president-elect. The prospect of this democratic collapse is not remote. People with the motive to make it happen are manufacturing the means. Given the opportunity, they will act. They are acting already.”

Now there are plenty of Republicans who believe that the Democrats are plotting to do exactly that, but as far as Gellman is concerned, that’s exactly the problem: he claims that in their belief that Leftists are destroying democracy, conservatives will destroy democracy and that the leader of this nefarious endeavor is (who else?) none other than Donald J. Trump. Gellman quotes Richard L. Hasen, a professor of law and political science at UC Irvine: “The democratic emergency is already here. We face a serious risk that American democracy as we know it will come to an end in 2024, but urgent action is not happening.”

It is to bring about such urgent action that The Atlantic published this piece, and on Sunday’s Meet the Press, Chuck Todd asked MSNBC analyst John Heilemann about it: “I want to read what Bart Gellman wrote in the cover story for The Atlantic. Some might say it is hyperbolic, but John Heilemann, I’m curious if you think it is? The headline is Trump’s Next Coup Has Already Begun. ‘Trump and his party convinced a dauntingly large number of Americans, that the essential workings of democracy are corrupt, that the made-up claims of fraud are true, that only cheating can thwart their victory at their polls, that tyranny usurped their government and that violence is a legitimate response.’ Hyperbolic or fact?”

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, the 2016 Democratic Party nominee for president, said Sunday on NBC’s “Today” that during the 2016 presidential campaign that the people chanting lock her up “had no idea what they were talking about.”

Anchor Willie Geist said, “You talked about after the 2016 election going to the woods for a while and being ready to come out at some point?”

Clinton said, “Yes. Literally, the very first day after the election, when I said okay, I’ve got to go for a walk. This is two overwhelmingly depressing, and I ran into this young woman with her dog and baby, and she gave me a hug. Going into the woods, I find restorative. Everybody will be knocked down. The question is will you get back up?”

Geist said, “How did you read and then deal with the criticism that you’ve received, which includes people calling for you to be locked up?”

Clinton said, “Oh, yes.”

Geist said, “During the presidential campaign.”

Clinton said, “What I learned was to take criticism seriously, but not personally. You mentioned ‘lock her up.’ What an absurd and, in many ways, dangerous attack. Because we’re supposed to live in a society governed by the rule of law.”

She continued, “The people chanting that and yelling it at me, first, had no idea what they were talking about, and secondly were being instigated to do that. So I don’t pay attention to that kind of stuff.

Clinton added, “I think that if people don’t shrink from criticism but understand where it’s coming from, you can go through life and withstand a lot of incoming attacks because you have to.”

The Struggles of Ofer Cassif, an Anti-Zionist in Israel’s Knesset

JERUSALEM – This past July I met with Israeli Knesset member Ofer Cassif at his office in the Knesset. The full interview with him can be viewed on my Patreon page. Cassif is arguably the most progressive Israeli politician in the Knesset and has a history of being on the front line of whatever progressive cause has needed him. Among the first Israelis to refuse to serve in the West Bank, he has also been a champion for Palestinian rights throughout his life.

Attempts to disqualify

When Cassif was elected, there was an outcry on the Israeli political right and a serious attempt to disqualify him from becoming a member of Knesset. Cassif is a member of the Hadash Party, which is the successor to the Israeli Communist Party. Today, Hadash is part of the Joint List. “It is almost a ritual,” Cassif says, noting that during every election, members of the Israeli right appeal to the Election Committee in the Knesset, which determines who qualifies and who does not, in order to disqualify political parties or individuals from running because they support justice for Palestinians.

“The fact that I am a Jew myself drove them crazy,” Cassfi admits, and he explains that the right in general, and the Israeli right in particular, has a “superficial, linear, and one-dimensional perspective of the world.” In other words, if you are an Israeli Jew you must support Israel and the crimes it commits.

During the 1984 Knesset elections, my father ran on a joint Arab-Jewish list called the Progressive Party for Peace. The right demanded that the list be disqualified because many of its members were progressive Palestinians whom the Israeli right wanted to silence. The party’s platform called for a Two State Solution and full equality for the Palestinian citizens of Israel.

That same year, the violent, racist hate-monger Me’ir Kahana was also running for the Knesset. The left demanded that he be disqualified for his blatant racism and calls to forcibly transfer the Palestinians out of Palestine. However, when the case came to the Israeli court, the court ruled that both the Progressive Party calling for peace and equality and the violent, racist Kahana be permitted to run, as though there was symmetry between the “two extremes.”

An Anti-Zionist in the Knesset

I asked MK Cassif about a claim he made that Zionism contributes to the rise of antisemitism in the world. “This was in an article I published in Catalan,” he said, “and the title was ‘Why Am I An Anti-Zionist Jew.’” The article Cassif wrote explained that Zionism is a racist, colonialist movement, which is why he opposes it. Furthermore, he added, “Zionism – sometimes explicitly and sometimes implicitly – supports antisemitism.” This is not a conspiracy notion and not a claim that this is even done consciously, but “it is inherent to Zionism.”

Cassif is intellectually unparalleled in Israeli politics. He quotes the words of Gramsci, Foucault, and Karl Marx. His office walls are covered with tributes to all the great socialists and to the Palestinian struggle. Cassif got his Ph.D. at the London School of Economics and his postdoc at Columbia University. He then returned to London and taught at LSE for two years. I was curious as to what a progressive, socialist anti-Zionist is doing in the Israeli parliament.

Prominent Aboriginal leader dies in COVID-19 ward

A prominent Aboriginal elder has died in the COVID-19 ward of a Sydney hospitala fortnight after speaking at a large public rally against mandatory vaccinations.

Uncle Max Dulumunmun Harrison, a Yuin man from the South Coast of NSW, died in the Sutherland Hospital on Saturday morning, his family has confirmed. Mr Harrison died from bronchial asthma and underlying complications, they said. He was 85 years old.

Mr Harrison was a cultural adviser “on health and cultural-related issues” for the Informed Medical Options Party (IMOParty) and was promoted as a key speaker at the “Millions March” rally in Sydney’s Hyde Park on November 27.

Mr Harrison was a respected Yuin elder and cultural man who had taught for many years at schools on Dharawal Country in the Sutherland shire and elsewhere in the state. He was the author of the 2009 book My People’s Dreaming and more recently lectured at the University of Technology Sydney.

Mr Harrison’s daughter Cheryl said her father’s last ceremony was held last Saturday.

“He was a very humble person who gave so much to others. He was very family-oriented and leaves behind eight generations of family bloodlines,” Ms Harrison said.

In a statement online, IMOParty founder Michael O’Neill described Uncle Max as a cultural adviser to the movement, which opposes mandatory vaccination and claims every second Indigenous child either experienced death or injury as a result of vaccination.

Uncle Max was remembered on Sunday by non-Indigenous and Indigenous groups from the South Coast of NSW and across Australia as one of the oldest living elders to pass down five generations of Aboriginal lore.

He was a highly respected elder who often spoke to non-Indigenous groups about Aboriginal culture, healing, spirituality and connection to the land.

Last month, he drafted a declaration presented to the NSW Parliament saying kangaroos should be treated as a “national treasure”. It said the ancient unbroken connection between kangaroos and First Nations people was of world heritage value, and Australia was one of the first countries to boast such an ongoing powerful ancestral connection between wildlife and First Nations people.

In a history of Aboriginal people before colonisation, Uncle Max said he had been cured of appendicitis by a traditional healer known as Grandfather Muns.

Muns taught Uncle Max how to treat the illnesses that commonly afflicted people such as rheumatism, fevers, colds, dysentery, skin eruptions, bites, sores, wounds and burns.

“He was a wonderful man,” said Lindsay Johnston, former dean of architecture at the University of Newcastle.

Mr Johnston wasn’t familiar with Uncle Max’s views on vaccination, but for 12 years the Aboriginal elder had addressed international architects attending the annual Glen Murcutt International Architecture Master Class.

His message was, “Touch the earth lightly,” recalled Mr Johnston, the convenor of the master class.

In 2020, Uncle Max spoke at Deerubbin 2020 about his childhood fleeing police and welfare.

Panic? US Mega-Corporations Rush to Abandon Vax Mandate

This week's nationwide annihilation of Biden's Federal Contractor vaccine mandate at the hands Georgia Federal Judge R. Stan Baker has resulted in a landslide retreat of cowardly mega-corporations from their so-confident bullying of American workers.

Biden's illegal gamble, the nationwide Federal contractor vaccine mandate, has like his previous Medicare mandate and OSHA if-you-have-100-workers-mandatory-vax mandate been ripped to shreds early on in the courts.

Biden's mandates have always been a bullying gamble, an admission that they knew they were engaging in illegal acts but that they would continue to use the not-insignificant weapons of the executive branch to blast as much harm as possible until the courts stepped in and noted the obvious: "You can't do this!"

Cynics - and I sympathize - will say that the courts could have ruled either way so don't get too excited.

That's the lesson of the past two years: There is nothing below us as we look down. It takes our breath away. We now understand that our civilization has been built on a pile of sand and any determined entity could tunnel under us as we are distracted by the human necessities of providing for our families and living our finite lives as best as possible.

This horrible reality cannot be unseen.

Previously we viewed our rulers - from dog catcher to president - as malevolent but for the most part at a distance. We never thought they would reach out with their gradually but steadily-acquired iron fist and squeeze the oxygen from our lungs: "Take a shot or starve!"

The Hungarians in early 1918 similarly were shocked that living somewhat silently among them were aliens who would activate themselves at the exact most fertile moment and literally up-end their somnambulant state, imposing "mandates" on their society that included mobile gallows - a crude earlier form of the forced vax.

With the welcome disintegration of this evil government decree - via Judge Baker's ruling that the contractor mandate is illegal - one by one the mega-corporations also see their position as shifting to the untenable. They are bailing out as fast as possible.

Some 83,000 Florida healthcare workers no longer face being kicked to the street by US government-sponsored terrorism, until this week dutifully enforced by the "free market" prostitutes in bed with the state.

As hero Alex Berenson has reported Thursday, mega corporations in the US are also suddenly looking under themselves and finding that they are alone. No more government guns aimed at the powerless…at least for the time being.

General Electric, 3M, Verizon, and Oracle have in the past day or so hedged their bets and snuck out of bed with the US government: no more vax requirements! We are talking about a large group of people no longer bound by the brotherhood of the needle.

We are winning this for now and should pause to drink it in.

But at the same time we must also look at what has rotted in our civilization that would allow such a force to upend us, to unleash this iron fist once hidden in a velvet glove. Life will never be the same knowing what these people have done to us. They must never be allowed to forget it.
