It should be pretty obvious who Q is. There are a very small number of people who can legally be Q, and we have pictures from POTUS' desk and of his pen.
This is, also, the only way certain security measures can legally be employed. Wherever POTUS chooses to go, certain aspects of the military and other agencies are charged with securing it.
Q hasn't really tried to hide who he is - that isn't as important as the message. Same with many of us... We don't care if someone figures out who we are - that isn't the point of the chans. What is more important is the message.
In the end, I suppose you could say Q is a bit of a LARP, but the king can play a knight, so to speak. The assumption that Q is using anomnyty to upgrade himself is just people who aren't expanding their thinking.
To be fair, few would expect POTUS to take to the chans as an anonymous insider source... But it is that raw audacity that defines a stable genius.
