>18 U.S. Code § 912 - Officer or employee of the United States

US Code

>Whoever falsely assumes or pretends to be an officer or employee acting under the authority of the United States or any department, agency or officer thereof, and acts as such, or in such >pretended character demands or obtains any money, paper, document, or thing of value, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both.

Not applicable in so many ways:

-You will not find the position of "Q" on a hiring website, payroll list, etc. It's not a govt position like a judge, IRS agent, so forth.

-Q is not acting under the authority of the US, dept, or agency. An actor using a search warrant would be acting under the authority of the US.

-Q has not demanded or obtained money, papers, documents, or things of value. Given the examples of money, documents, papers, "thing of value" would be interpreted to mean something tangible and physical, not simply "rallying the MAGA base."

-Trump has authority over classified info.

-Even legislative intent scrutiny would fail. The intent is to prevent people like Scientology operatives from obtaining govt documents, which they have done.

That fake cop wasn't acting under the authority of the US, he was acting under the authority of the state he was in, so the federal law wouldn't apply, state law would apply.
