Supermarket Giant Strips Unvaccinated Employees Of Their Benefits

Supermarket chain Kroger announced Tuesday it will eliminate paid emergency leave for unvaccinated employees who contract COVID-19 in addition to requiring some of them to pay a monthly $50 health insurance surcharge starting in 2022, according to a company memo.

The country’s largest supermarket chain, which employees roughly 465,000 workers, issued an internal company memo announcing the changes, which will start on Jan. 1, a company spokesperson told the Daily Caller News Foundation. Kroger is tightening their COVID-19 related policies as U.S. businesses face uncertainty over President Joe Biden’s recent federal vaccination mandate.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) called Joe Biden's immigration policies a "mass human smuggling operation."

DeSantis slammed the Biden administration for neglecting duties they are responsible for.

During an appearance on FNC’s “The Ingraham Angle," the governor said:

“So, the border is obviously a disaster.

Substitute Teacher Arrested After Video Of Her Having Sex With Student Allegedly Circulated On Social Media

A substitute English teacher at Lakeland High School in Florida was arrested for allegedly having sex with a student, according to police.

Ayanna Davis told the Polk County Sheriff’s Office that she had sex with the student four different times, according to a Polk County Sheriff’s Office news release from Monday. Two of the encounters were allegedly at the student’s home and two were at Davis’ home.

“This is a clear violation of sexual battery laws. She was in a position of influence over the victim, and she took advantage of that for her own twisted pleasure,” Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said in the news release.

The Lakeland Police Department became aware of the situation when a high school student told a school resource officer about a Snapchat video showing Davis and a student having sex, according to police. The Polk County Sheriff’s office was then brought in to investigate.

Amtrak Suspends Vaccine Mandate Days After Shutting Down Routes Over Staff Shortages

Amtrak has suspended their vaccine mandate just days after the railroad service began cutting services due to vaccine related staffing shortages, according to Reuters' David Shepardson.

In a Tuesday statement, Amtrak - like many other businesses lately - pointed to a recent federal court decision halting the enforcement of President Biden's Executive Order for federal contractors. The decision "caused the company to reevaluate our policy and to address the uncertainty" surrounding federal requirements.

"Amtrak is announcing today that we will revert to our original vaccine mandate policy," which allows employees to submit negative Covid-19 tests as an alternative to vaccination.
