• July 20th, 2015 – DOJ blocks any OIG oversight into DOJ’s National Security Division
The DOJ’s Office of Legal Counsel (Sally Yates) responds to the Office of the Inspector General (Michael E. Horowitz) that they cannot provide the requested documents. The 58-page DOJ report essentially states, “Ýou can audit everything except the National Security Division of the DOJ”

• January 7th, 2016 – NSA IG Report

• Mid-2016 – full NSA compliance audit on 702 searches
NSA Dir. Adm. Mike Rogers orders the NSA compliance officer to conduct “a fundamental baseline review of compliances associated with 702” searches from Nov. 1st 2015 to May 1st 2016 and concludes that the “NSA estimates that approximately eighty-five percent of those queries […] were not compliant with the applicable minimization procedures.” Page 82

• March 9th, 2016 – DOJ conducts minimization review at the FBI
Oversight personnel learns that the FBI has disclosed “raw FISA information that went well beyond what was necessary to respond to the FBI’s requests” to outside contractors. Page 83-84

• April, 2016 – The Clinton campaign retains Fusion GPS
The Clinton campaign and DNC lawyer, Marc Elias of Perkins Coie, retained Fusion in April 2016 and continued paying for the research through October. "To aid in its representation of the Clinton presidential campaign and the Democratic National Committee, Perkins Coie retained Fusion GPS, entering into an engagement for research services that began in April 2016 and concluded before the election in early November.”
