PhiAnon here
Typhoon Odette was the first one to hit us almost directly that I've encountered here. TBH I thought it should have been way worse. We had one tree down, and no property damage. Power was restored after 16 hours where we live. Plenty of people lost parts of their roofs in the pictures you may see, including family members on neighboring islands. Again, this is to be expected when your home-made house is made of sticks and tin. People actually paint their names on roofing panels, so they can collect them later, not kidding in the least.
All in all pretty fortunate. There was also not much rain with this typhoon, compared to the rain we've experience on other typhoons.
