My daughter's university honors those students and faculty/administrators that have passed away while currently at the university during the year at the end of the fall semester every year. The small ceremony took place earlier this week before the students went home for the holidays.

The Count = 21

9 students and 12 faculty/administrators (University size 15K)

My daughter went back in time 12 years on line and found that the average number of those included in the ceremony was a little less than 5, basically 3 to 7 a year.

We both searched obituaries of the 21 deaths this year and found that two of the deaths were legitimate car accidents. We found all the obituaries with another 2 not stating or hinting at a cause of death. We found all the rest were,"suddenly", "unexpectedly", "died at home", vague as is the custom but showing a surprise factor.

93% of the university is vaccinated and are now mandating boosters for next semester.
