Been traveling around the Southeast lately. In three different towns, each about 100 miles from the others, I've been seeing/hearing Latino street musicians playing (loudly) electric fiddles or accordians at busy shopping malls, for donations. They are all 20ish males and are all poorly playing what, I suppose, is intended to be a tear-jerker melody, but they are all slurring the notes and are obviously not professional musicians. The odd thing is they are all playing the same f***ing melody. Drove by one of them with my windows down while blasting out some Joe Satriani, as some leftish woman was dropping a $20 in his bucket. We exchanged dirty looks and he grabbed his cell like he's calling Security or something.

This is not some lone musician down on his luck. This is an organized collection campaign crossing state boundaries.
