I'm reading through the 13th release of Wolfram, released a week ago on the 13th, and 1/3 of a century after the initial release (article even mentions the "1, 3 theme" in the first paragraph!):

I reached the section (~a third through), "Getting Time Right: Leap Seconds & More" – and burst out laughing.
Why?
Because [they] gave us a model that is not fully accurate; it's similar to a facade, like in MGM Studios where the train goes through the town that looks real, then goes around behind it and you can see it's just the fronts of buildings, with leaning 2x4s holding them up from behind – no kitchens, or bathrooms, etc.
Not really buildings.
Same with the heliocentric model.
So now Wolfram is modeling "leap seconds" and the model is going to show us the cracks in the facade.
It's a bit to get through but then, isn't everything? :)
God bless.
