I didn't say the Pharisees were led astray. I don't think you understand what happened before the fall of the northern kingdom. The country split into two groups, one king in the north and one in the south. The one in the north didn't like Mosaic law and preferred the idol shit. So, what happened is, that originally the different tribes had specific locations, over the years they moved around, and so, at that point, the ones that were inclined to idol worship moved north, and ones who saw that as a bad thing, moved south. THAT, is one of the main reasons the south lasted a little longer than the north. After the Bar Kokhba revolt, the Romans had had enough and destroyed the temple and Jerusalem, and then dispersed the people all over the place, but before doing that, the Romans had rounded up a lot of the Edomites and forced them to, "become," Jews, which didn't sit too well with either side because the Edomites and the Jews were mortal enemies even though they were cousins. When the Romans sacked Jerusalem, the remaining Edomites cheered on the Romans, and then promptly moved in to replace all the displaced Jews. So, some of todays so called Jews are really Edomites or descendants of Esau and not Jacob.
BTW, there are NO lost tribes. There were groups representing ALL 12 in both the northern and southern kingdom. There may have been more of some in either kingdom, but all had at least some in either kingdom.
