>“With that background in mind, let’s review what’s going on in Danchenko’s criminal case.

He was originally represented by Chris Schafbuch and Mark Schamel.

Schamel has two 'hits' in the DoS FOIA reading room- both in FOIA logs

2020

According to a Dept. of State FOIA log, in October 2020 Jennifer Wiggins of Bregman, Berbert, Schwartz & Gilday, LLC requested very specific information about Turkey, Edrogen, the DC police and 'Mark Schamel.

the arrest, detention, extradition, deportation, expatriation, and/or rendition of anyone reside

within the U.S. from May 16, 2017 through the present;

  1. whether the Republic of Turkey has filed any allegations, complaints, protests, or

  1. whether any U.S. or District of Columbia law enforcement official has filed any official or unofficial

2009 The Requester was Mark Schamel requesting information about [redacted]

Funny/Not funny that the next FOIA log request was about Chelsea Clinton and a 1999 visa. (cap related)

>Jennifer Wiggins of Bregman, Berbert, Schwartz & Gilday, LLC

According to her blurb on the lawfirm website:

"Jennifer (Lucy) Wiggins practices in the areas of commercial real estate transactions, complex civil litigation, and land use and zoning. Her transactional practice focuses on the drafting and negotiation of commercial real estate leases, purchase and sale agreements, development agreements, and includes a wide variety of issues related to transit-oriented developments. She also provides counsel to government agencies in connection with real estate and property issues, as well as regulatory drafting and guidance."

So in 2020, a lawfirm associate who specializes in real estate matters and advises the USG makes a Dept. of State FOIA request involving another lawfirm (Womble Bond Dickson), Edrogan and Mark E. Schamel specifically.
