Since you asked? Ignore and let time tell the truth. Engaging in childish arguments that aren't based in fact do nothing but generate noise. "Clanky symbols", as it were. I've found that asking questions and letting the seeds grow themselves is the best approach. It's like grandma used to say "If you don't have something nice to say…".
