UK Watchdog Will Not Probe Metropolitan Police Over 10 Downing Street Christmas Party

The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC), a police watchdog group for England and Wales, said it will not investigate a complaint over Scotland Yard’s handling of allegations that a 2020 Christmas party that took place in 10 Downing Street, London, broke Covid protocols.

The IOPC said the complaint, brought by Baroness Jones of Moulsecoomb, was “invalid” because the baroness was neither close to nor personally present when police officers allegedly failed to enforce Covid rules.

They also added that she had not been “adversely affected” by police officer failures. The IOPC’s final conclusion was that it was up to the Metropolitan Police to decide whether to pursue the matter.

An IOPC spokesperson added, "If evidence were to come to light that anyone serving with the police may have breached standards of professional behaviour or committed a criminal offence, linked to the alleged party, we have reminded the Metropolitan Police of its obligations to refer relevant matters to us, irrespective of whether or not a valid complaint has been made."

The incident in question is an alleged party that broke Covid protocols on December 18, 2020, at 10 Downing Street, the official residence of the First Lord of Treasury and the headquarters of the government of the United Kingdom.

The party, along with multiple social gatherings that occurred from November 2020 through December 2020, came to light at the end of November 2021 and sparked outrage as the preeminent facility of the UK government was used for parties and social gatherings as the country was in lockdown.

At the time of the alleged parties, government guidance said work Christmas lunches or parties were not allowed. The string of parties at 10 Downing Street have embroiled UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson in controversy.

After deeper scrutiny, the baroness wrote to the IOPC on December 6 alleging that police were involved in an alleged December 18, 2020 Christmas party.

Jones wrote in her letter, “Put very simply, if there was an unlawful gathering taking place at No10 Downing Street, then the police must have known, and were highly likely to have played an active part in organising or facilitating the illegal gathering.”

She would go on to allege that the Metropolitan Police’s refusal to investigate the incident was “a potential cover-up."

US Navy Seizes 1,400 AK-47s From 'Stateless Vessel' in North Arabian Sea

US Navy coastal patrol ships USS Tempest (PC 2) and USS Typhoon (PC 5) reportedly conducted the seizure on December 20, along a route of the North Arabian Sea that has been historically used to traffic weapons and munitions to Houthi militants in Yemen, according to the service.

The US Navy confirmed on Wednesday that, earlier this week, the 5th Fleet had seized some 1,400 AK-47 assault rifles and at least 226,000 rounds of ammunition from a stateless fishing vessel traveling in the North Arabian Sea.

The weapons and ammo were discovered by Navy forces amid a flag verification boarding "in accordance with customary international law in the North Arabian Sea."

The vessel's five-man crew were all identified as Yemeni nationals, and will be returned to their country of origin, according to US personnel. Although described as a "stateless vessel," the service noted in its Wednesday release that undisclosed findings suggested it had "originated in Iran."

"After removing the crew and illicit cargo, US naval forces determined the stateless vessel was a hazard to navigation for commercial shipping and sank it," the release detailed.

This comes several months after guided-missile destroyer USS Winston S. Churchill (DDG 81) seized what are reported to be illicit shipments of weapons and weapons components from two stateless dhows off the coast of Somalia.

The seizure, conducted between February 11 and February 12, resulted in the confiscation of a cache of weapons, including thousands of AK-47-style assault rifles, light machine guns, rocket-propelled grenade launchers, and heavy sniper rifles.

UK government data suggests Omicron variant milder than Delta – report

Findings said to show that those who fall ill with the highly contagious new strain are less likely to become severely sick than those who caught its predecessor

As the Omicron coronavirus variant sweeps through the UK and much of the world, new data compiled by the British government suggests the new strain is causing milder COVID-19 than Delta, even as it spreads faster, Politico reported Wednesday.

The UK Health Security Agency — the equivalent of the US Centers for Disease Control — found that Britons who have fallen ill with the Omicron variant have been less likely to become severely sick than those who caught the Delta strain, the report said.

The findings, expected to be released to the public before Christmas, also show that Omicron is likely to bring on a milder illness with less serious symptoms than those caused by Delta, but the report noted that this may be due to the UK’s high rates of vaccination and previous infection.

The government report, however, was said to caution that while Omricon may cause more mild illness, due to its high rate of contagion it may still not be possible to avoid mass hospitalizations that could overwhelm the British health system.

The experts have also found evidence that for those who do become severely ill, there is still a high chance of hospitalization and death, the report said.

The congressional lawmaker, whose district represents parts of South Philadelphia and Delaware County, was accompanied by another member of her staff, but the two drove separately, according to office spokesperson Lauren Cox.

Around 2:45 p.m., Scanlon was walking alone back to her car on the 1900 block of Pattison Avenue when she was approached by two armed men who demanded her car keys and personal belongings, according to Cox.

Scanlon handed over her belongings — including personal cell phone, federal government cell phone and personal ID — and the two men drove away in her 2017 Acura MDX.

Broadview, Il – Illinois Democrat Senator Kimberly Lightford and her husband were carjacked in a Chicago suburb Tuesday evening.

“Three masked subjects driving a Durango hijacked a black Mercedes Benz SUV, in the possession of State Senator Kimberly Lightford,” police said.

According to police, gunshots were fired during the carjacking, however it is unclear who fired the shots.

Tyrannical European Union “Triples Down” – Announces Vaccine Passports Will Automatically Expire After 9 Months For Individuals Without Booster

On Tuesday, the European Union Commission announced that Europe’s dystopian Covid vaccine passports will expire after nine months for individuals without a booster shot. The new rules will take effect for all 27 EU states on Feb. 1st, 2022.

The new guidelines will affect citizens’ ability to travel within the European Union, restricting them to whichever country they are in when their passport expires, but the Commission pushed EU countries to also mandate the booster in order to be considered fully vaccinated on a national level.

“Today, the Commission adopted rules relating to the EU Digital COVID Certificate, establishing a binding acceptance period of 9 months (precisely 270 days) of vaccination certificates for the purposes of intra-EU travel.

The new rules on the acceptance period of vaccination certificates apply for the purposes of travel. When introducing different rules to use the certificates at national level, Member States are encouraged to align them to these new rules to provide certainty for travellers and reduce disruptions.”

According to the commission, there have been 807 million digital Covid certificates that have been issued in the EU – but as of the most recent data, just 19% of all citizens have taken the booster.

Once the change becomes active, not only will potentially millions of un-boosted individuals become ineligible to travel between member countries – to say nothing of further restrictions that are inevitably coming, but the policy also forces EU states to unilaterally let fully vaxxed and boosted travelers with a valid Covid pass access their territory.

This second change could potentially be used to facilitate the import and transportation of millions of illegal migrants who are clamoring to get into the EU after Biden’s Afghanistan disaster just by jabbing them with the booster and issuing them this pass.

At Least 64 Dead After Boat Crashes In Ocean. Search Helicopter Crashes Too, Leaving Top Minister To Swim For 12 Hours

At least 64 people have died in a boat crash off the northeastern coast of Madagascar, and searches were performed for additional 24 passengers, Reuters reported.

The vessel carrying 138 passengers sank late Monday night, and 54 survived the crash, the Maritime and River Port Agency (APMF) said, according to Reuters.

The boat, a cargo ship that was not authorized to carry passengers, became overloaded, and water filled the engine, said Mamy Randrianavony, the APMF’s director of operations at sea, according to Reuters.

A search helicopter carrying the leader of Madagascar’s national police, Serge Gellé, crashed at sea Monday, CNN reported. Gellé was found alive Tuesday morning after spending almost 12 hours swimming at sea.

Gellé was accompanying Prime Minister Christian Ntsay and the Minister of National Defence General Léon Richard Rakotonirina, who were traveling in a separate helicopter to oversee the search operations for the crashed boat, according to CNN.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has suggested that NATO's Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg should look for a different job if he thinks the alliance can discard Euro-Atlantic security principles.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with RT on Wednesday, Lavrov pointed out that one of the cornerstones of Euro-Atlantic security is the principle of "equal and indivisible security" - something that was set out in the Helsinki Final Act of 1975.

It envisages that Euro-Atlantic states do not strengthen their security at the expense of the security of others.

"If Jens Stoltenberg believes NATO members can ignore this principle… then, perhaps, it's time for him to get a different job", Lavrov concluded.

Additionally, Lavrov addressed Stoltenberg's assertions that no one has the right to breach the Washington Treaty - an accord that "keeps the door open to any potential aspirant eager to join the North Atlantic Treaty Organization".

"Mr Stoltenberg […] keeps making some not very appropriate statements. When [he] says loudly and rather arrogantly that nobody is in the position to violate the principle of the Washington treaty […], he should remember that we are not a participant in that organization, that we are not signatory to that treaty", Lavrov said.

Earlier, Stoltenberg voiced his opposition to the idea of discussing spheres of influence with Russia. He also stated that Russia does not have a say in Ukraine's aspirations to join NATO.

The company issued dozens of press releases mentioning its support for the Tokyo Games, but its mentions of China’s have been sparse. A champion beatboxer who starred on Australia's Got Talent a decade ago has been arrested after allegedly sexually abusing a teenage girl.

Genesis Cerezo, 29, was arrested at his home in Hurstville in Sydney's south by officers from the NSW Police Child Abuse and Sex Crime Squad on Tuesday.

The TV star has been charged with 31 offences, some of which police will allege were committed during amateur photo shoots with the teenage girl.

The charges include indecent assault of a person aged under 16, using a child over 14 to make child abuse material and sexually touching a person without consent.

Cerezo has also been charged with aggravated sexual assault and sexual intercourse without consent which could see the beatboxer jailed if found guilty for 12 years.

Shortly after his arrest officers searched the Hurstville home and seized mobile phones, computers, hard drives, clothing and photography equipment.

Officers also seized a gel-blaster pistol, an extendible baton, and a small Samurai-style sword, police said on Thursday.

24 States Sue Biden Admin Over COVID-19 Mandates For Children, Staff In 'Head Start' Education Program

Attorneys general (AG) from 24 states have filed a lawsuit against the Biden administration challenging COVID-19 vaccine mandates for early education staff, and mask mandates for young children.

Led by Louisiana AG Jeff Landry, the lawsuit (pdf) argues that the mandates involving Head Start, the country’s largest early education program, are unlawful, and exceed President Joe Biden’s statutory authority.

Biden’s mandate, issued last month, applies to all preschool programs funded by the federal Head Start program, and affects hundreds of thousands of staff, volunteers, and preschool students across the country. It mandates vaccinations for staff, volunteers, and others in contact with students by the end of January, and masks for all adults and children aged two and above.

The mandate offers no alternative to vaccinations, and for those granted exemptions, funds are not provided for regular testing. It applies to staff regardless of whether they work in-person or remotely.

The Department of Health and Human Services provides funding to low-income families of preschool-age children under the federal Head Start program.

The lawsuit argues that the president’s mandate is projected to lead to tens of thousands of Head Start agency staff losing their jobs and will cause programs to close or reduce capacity.

“Like all of his other unlawful attempts to impose medical decisions on Americans, Biden’s overreaching orders to mask two-year-olds and force vaccinate teachers in our underserved communities will cost jobs and impede child development,” Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry said in a statement on Tuesday. “If enacted, Biden’s authoritarianism will cut funding, programs, and childcare that working families, single mothers, and elderly raising grandchildren rely on desperately.”

The 24 states are seeking to block the Biden administration’s mandate, arguing that it is “arbitrary and capricious” and violates the Congressional Review Act and the Tenth Amendment.

The requirements also violate the Administrative Procedure Act’s Notice-and-Comment Requirement, the Nondelegation Doctrine, the Anti-Commandeering Doctrine, the Spending Clause, and the Treasury and General Government Appropriations Act of 1999, according to the lawsuit.

“Our Nation’s children have faced enough setbacks and difficulties during the last two years; they cannot afford another government attack on their development,” Landry said. “My office has had great success in blocking Biden’s mandates on many hard-working Americans, and we will work tirelessly to achieve the same victories for toddlers and teachers.”

The lawsuit was filed by the AGs of Louisiana, Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah, Wyoming, and West Virginia.

Alex Berenson Sues Twitter, Says Company Acted 'On Behalf' Of Biden Administration

In a 70-page complaint filed on Monday in the Northern District of California, Berenson accused Twitter of violating his First Amendment rights, and claims that a Twitter executive assured him on multiple occasions that he would be free to express his opinions on the platform without fear of punishment.

"Despite the controversy around his statements, a senior Twitter executive repeatedly assured Mr. Berenson that the company backed his right to free expression and that he would continue to enjoy access to the platform," reads the complaint.

Berenson also argues that Twitter was acting on behalf of the Biden administration by censoring his content, specifically that he has a "a uniquely viable claim that Twitter acted on behalf of the federal government in censoring and barring him from to its platform."

The ban came just days after Biden administration officials - as well as Biden himself - called for a crackdown on Covid-19 misinformation on social media.

According to the complaint, Twitter is subject to a California law which applies to "common carriers," a provision which dates back to 1872 and regulates companies that "offer to the public to carry persons, property, or messages."

Ex-cop says NYPD boss raped her ‘nearly every game day’ at Yankee Stadium: suit

A retired NYPD cop assigned to the cushy Yankee Stadium detail says her captain raped her “nearly every game day” for a year at the ballpark, according to a new lawsuit.

Gillian Roberts says that Capt. Jeffrey Brienza, her boss at the 44th Precinct, even changed her schedule to make sure he would have more time with her, her suit filed in Bronx Supreme Court said.

When she denied his advances or tried to avoid him, Brienza turned hostile, leveraging his power as her boss to give her undesirable posts and showing open hostility, according to the complaint.

The situation turned so grave, the former cop says, she “felt that she was no longer there to perform the duties of a police officer, but to provide unconsented sex to the Captain.”

Roberts, who had been a cop since 1998, is seeking $35 million in damages.

Brienza is now stationed at the 25th Precinct, according to the suit and online databases.

Roberts worked as an officer in Long Island City and Queens for more than 20 years before she transferred to the Yankee Stadium detail in March 2020. At her new and more desirable assignment, Brienza “almost immediately” began to show her preferential treatment and was “overly attentive,” the suit says.

Roberts, a black woman, was uncomfortable with the dynamic and felt “trapped” but felt she had no recourse, according to court papers.

“Brienza purposefully and with premeditation manipulated Ms. Roberts for the purpose of getting her to believe that he was there for her, and tactfully worked on gaining her trust,” her lawyers say.

Brienza allegedly isolated her from other officers, took full control of her schedule and made Roberts his personal driver, which she claims was both unusual and unprecedented.

The first alleged assault took place at the end of a shift in June 2020, when Brienza went into the women’s restroom while Roberts was using it, and forced her to have unprotected oral and vaginal sex, Roberts alleges. After she yelled “No!,” Brienza allegedly yelled “Yes!,” placing his hands around her neck and ejaculating inside of her, the filing says.

WHO Says COVID-19 Pandemic 'Must' End In 2022, And It Requires Vaccinating The Whole World

The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared that the COVID-19 pandemic “must” end in 2022, and WHO Director-General Tedros Ghebreyesus suggested it will require vaccinating the entire world.

The Director-General made the statements earlier today in the WHO’s last planned COVID-19 briefing of 2021, Politico reported.

“2022 must be the end of the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Tedros, who added that “we know the virus very well and we have all the tools [to fight it].”

These tools apparently include a continuation and further expansion of the mass vaccination program underway in the majority of countries.

Tedros suggested the tools must be implemented “effectively” and with deference to “equity,” but also warned that the effort is global in nature.

“Unless we vaccinated the whole world, I don’t think we can end this pandemic,” Tedros concluded.

Another WHO official questioned whether the planet has the “stamina” to do what it takes in order to successfully complete a global vaccination campaign, despite enough vaccines being produced to undertake such an endeavor.

Meanwhile, even Politico noted that it is unclear whether the existing COVID-19 vaccines will protect against the extremely mild Omicron variant of COVID-19.

The CDC recently admitted that the majority of individuals with Omicron have been vaccinated, and the Democrat California Gov. Gavin Newsom recently said that the “disproportionate” number of vaccinated people contracting the virus is grounds for the return of the wildly divisive face mask mandate.

It was also reported today, via leaked information from the British government, that the Omicron variant appears to be far more mild than the Delta variant.

Still, this has not stopped Democrats in the United States and world leaders they are aligned with from embracing more vaccines.

Today, National File reported that Israel has officially embraced the fourth jab of the Pfizer vaccine – the only vaccine used in the country – for individuals over the age of 60. Health officials in that country previously told citizens to prepare for the fourth in September, when they received the third jab.

The WHO shot to international prominence during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, when it was characterized by presentations plagued by technical errors that were mentioned in emails sent to Anthony Fauci.

President Donald Trump ultimately withdrew the United States from the WHO, citing the organization’s heavy reliance on funding from China, the origin point of COVID-19.

Firm Tasked With Disbursing $40 Million From Musk's SEC Settlement Hasn't Filed Required Statements, Judge Says

As a part of Elon Musk's settlement with the SEC over his questionable Tweets - namely, one enormously questionable one wherein he faked an $80 billion buyout for his company - a $40 million fund had been set up from fines that Musk had to fork over.

The fund was set up to be disbursed to those harmed by Musk's statements, but U.S. District Judge Alison Nathan - who recently has had her hands full with the Ghislaine Maxwell trial - issued an order this week noting that the firm set up to manage the funds wasn't holding up its end of the bargain.

On Tuesday of this week, Nathan noted that a firm appointed in May to manage the distributions hadn't "filed required accounting statements", according to Bloomberg. Nathan ordered that Rust Consulting submit a status report to the court by January 7.

The settlement between Musk and the SEC was reached back in September of 2018. Musk's settlement didn't include an admission of wrongdoing, but did result in the SEC setting up a Fair Fund to repay investors.

Since the settlement, Musk has referred to the SEC as the "shortseller enrichment commission" and has invited the agency - in not so many words - to fellate him.

Liz Cheney and the January 6th Committee called in Rep. Jim Jordan for questioning in their sham investigation into the rioting on January 6, 2020.

ABC News reported:

The House select committee investigating the Jan. 6 Capitol attack sent a letter on Wednesday to GOP Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio, requesting he appear for an interview with the panel about his communications with President Donald Trump on and before Jan. 6.

The request from Chairman Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., to the staunch Trump ally is the committee’s second such request to a GOP lawmaker.

Jordan, who Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., has described as a potential “material witness” for the committee’s investigation, has said he spoke to Trump on Jan. 6 after the attack — after initially telling an Ohio news station he couldn’t remember when he communicated with Trump and Politico reported that they spoke twice.

Jordan, a leader and founding member of the Trump-aligned House Freedom Caucus, was among the GOP lawmakers who planned to challenge the election results on the House floor. He has said he had “nothing to do with” the attack on the Capitol.
