12/21/2021 UPDATE: As we see a rapid increase of omicron cases in our area, it is now apparent that with this soon-to-be dominant COVID-19 variant, the effectiveness of the currently available monoclonals is greatly reduced. Until we receive a supply of new monoclonal antibody therapy drugs, Houston Methodist will not offer monoclonal therapy.

[Monoclonal Antibody Treatment] can be extremely effective, but it's not a replacement for vaccination. The community still needs to step up and get vaccinated to break the virus' chain of transmission.
