I have never witnessed a more rote delineation
of pat atheistic old saws in my long life.
These clichés are told and retold in the works of
every atheist on the current card.
The complaints about the 'Cruel Creator' and
the 'maniacal' nature of God were old when
Dawkins stole them from someone else.
The insect life-cycle story is that whiner Attenborough's whipping boy.
1) God created the world, and the people in it,
perfect. But rather than have a bunch of robots
and 'yes' men and women at His beck and
call, He gave them free will to choose. They
did, and closed the perfect Garden to mankind
for ever. This was not God's fault–unless you
like the alternative of a world without choices.
2) The insect cycles that take place inside people are largely owing to a lack of hygeine
in the regions where these insects inhabit.
It is not surprising to find people with poor hygiene,
low morals, and an acute lack of spirituality.
What is really frustrating is that Dawkins, Attenborough, and even Fry and his interviewer
I dare say, know these things perfectly well.
They simply make good automatic defenses,
they believe, for their lack of belief.
This being said, I find Stephen Fry to be a. n excellent communicator (when he's off the
atheism dug). Aside from his excellent acting, he has narrated countless nature videos, and
historical vignettes. I respect his talent, but
deplore his worn unbelief.
