i remember reading Brave New World for HS english class, and one thing that really stuck out to me was the author's choice for the new reference point for calculating dates, AF for after ford. the accepted interpretation that it was a reference to the fact that ford was credited with the development of assembly-line style mass production. that never sat right with anon. seemed like a stretch. now i wonder if it had anything to do with ford's virulent anti-zionism. the age of ford would then refer to the time when zionism was questioned and challenged, and dates After Ford (AF) would refer to the beginning of the New World (Order?) after those challenges had been put to rest once and for all. any literature geeks wanna chime in on that?
