On November 21, 2021, black supremacist Darrell Brooks intentionally sped his SUV through the crowd at the Waukesha Christmas parade. Brooks sped up his vehicle as he plowed through the parade killing 6 individuals and injuring more than 60 others.

Brooks should never have been out of jail in the first place, but thanks to felons-first Milwaukee DA John Chisholm, this violent felon was bailed out for just $1000.

The district attorney whose office let out Brooks on a $1,000 bond three weeks ago did so after Brooks ran over his girlfriend with the same vehicle he used to plow through the Waukesha parade.

District Attorney John Shisholm previously admitted he knew his lax bail policies would lead to killers murdering others, saying flippantly in a 2007 interview, ‘You bet, it’s guaranteed to happen.’

The people of Milwaukee asked Democrat Governor Tony Evers to remove Chisholm after the event.

In his year-end interview, Governor Evers said the people of Wisconsin should “sit back and take a breath” over bail reform.

Israel Launches Massive Attack On Syrian Port, Fires Burn 14 Hours

In the second such major attack this month on Syria's key northern city, the port of Latakia was struck overnight by multiple Israeli missiles, erupting in huge fireballs and massive damage, with the blaze appearing to burn into the morning and even afternoon hours of Tuesday.

Syrian state SANA described that "At around 3:21am (05:21 GMT), the Israeli enemy carried out an aerial aggression with several missiles from the direction of the Mediterranean… targeting the container yard in Latakia port." SANA also said there was damage to a nearby hospital.

By many accounts this marked a much larger strike compared to a similar attack on the port weeks ago. Likely Israeli warplanes flying over the Mediterranean launched the attack, while some reports suggested cruise missiles.

"Live footage aired by state television showed flames and smoke in the container terminal," according to further details in Al Jazeera.

"Later on Tuesday, the Syrian government’s media office said emergency services brought under control fires that had broken out in the port’s container storage area." the report added.

Fires raged through the day Tuesday, with some eyewitnesses saying they burned out of control for at least fourteen hours.

There will be no more NATO expansion – Russia

In diplomatic meetings next year, Russian officials will urge Washington to halt the bloc's expansion

At upcoming talks with Washington, Moscow will not only obstruct but will put a complete stop to any eastwards expansion of the US-led NATO military bloc, the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister said on Tuesday.

Speaking to news agency Interfax, Sergey Ryabkov said his country would go into the negotiations with a clear agenda and reject any attempts by US diplomats to dilute the proposed agreement between the two parties.

“Our leadership has repeatedly said we can no longer tolerate the situation that is developing in the immediate vicinity of our borders. We cannot tolerate NATO expansion. We will not just prevent it. We will put a stop to it,” Ryabkov said.

The talks, due to be held on January 10, will focus on two publicly released draft treaties that include a list of promises Russia wants to obtain from the US and NATO. As well as pledges that the bloc won’t expand eastwards, the proposals also include the end of Western cooperation with post-Soviet countries, the removal of US nuclear weapons from Europe, and the withdrawal of NATO troops and missiles away from the Russian border.

However, according to Ryabkov, the US wants to ignore Russia’s firm demands, instead proposing a less structured form of negotiations. “We should not come up with some kind of dimensionless agenda when it is in our interest to include topics that have long been sorted out through other channels. We have to focus exclusively on the two draft documents that we have presented,” he said.

Ryabkov’s comments followed quotes in the Western media from unnamed sources in the White House claiming the forthcoming talks would focus on arms control, as well as the situation on the Russian-Ukrainian border.

“That in itself is a very difficult task, given the degree of disagreement between us and the US, and us and NATO, on these issues,” the deputy FM said, explaining that Russia would not accept any American attempt to “dilute” the discussion over the proposed treaties.

“We would conclude, in such a case, that the US is not ready for a serious conversation. We call for negotiations, intensively and quickly. We believe that the issue is not just overdue. It is overripe,” he added.

Thousands Protest In Germany Ahead Of COVID Measures Set To Go Into Effect Tuesday

Thousands of people took to the streets of Germany on Monday in protest over COVID-19 restrictions that are set to go into effect on Tuesday.

The demonstrations were particularly rife in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, northern Germany, where roughly 15,000 demonstrators took to the streets across several cities to protest against tighter measures, according to local reports.

In Rostock, a city along the Warnow River on the north coast of the country, roughly 6,500 people demonstrated, while in Schwerin there were roughly 2,700 and in Neubrandenburg, around 2,400 people took to the streets to demonstrate.

The city of Cottbus saw around 3,000 demonstrators, according to Tagesschau which cited police figures. Elsewhere in the east, around 9,000 demonstrators took to the streets at 16 locations across the south of Brandenburg. Hundreds more protested in the cities of Hesse, Baden-Württemberg, and various places in Lower Saxony, as per local reports.

In Saxony, East Germany, police said on Twitter that they had officers patrolling areas in Görlitz, Bautzen, Hoyerwerda, Kamenz and Zittau.

“In Bautzen, Görlitz, Zittau, Weißwasser and Hoyerswerda, there are currently larger gatherings of people,” police wrote on Monday.

“Our emergency services will inform them of the violation of the current Corona emergency regulations and ask them to leave the area,” officials said.

Police later said they were attacked during the demonstrations in Bautzen.

“The emergency services were massively attacked with fireworks and bottles,” the police said in the evening.

The spacecraft boasts unprecedented ability to stabilize, enabling it to photograph vast areas in a single pass

A Chinese satellite has snapped high-resolution imagery around the US city of San Francisco in just 42 seconds. The spacecraft is said to be able to remain very stable while spinning at high speeds, keeping the picture clear.

The satellite in question, a small one-ton Beijing-3 spacecraft, was launched into space back in June. The satellite is able to take high-resolution, 50-centimeters-per-pixel images from the 500 kilometer altitude it’s parked at.“China started relatively late on agile satellite technology, but achieved a large number of breakthroughs in a short period of time,” said Yang Fang, lead scientist at the DFH Satellite Company.

During tests, the spacecraft performed an in-depth scan of a vast area around San Francisco Bay, covering some 3,800 square kilometers (1,470 square miles) in a mere 42 seconds, Chinese media reported, citing researchers behind the project.

“The level of our technology has reached a world leading position.”

The research team behind the satellite claims the spacecraft is the most nimble ever built. The satellite’s ability to cover such vast areas in record time comes with the use of onboard AI, which helps to stabilize it. The Beijing-3 is said to be able to plan its flight route independently, monitoring up to 500 areas of interest as it passes around the globe nearly 100 times in a single day.

During the tests, the satellite was said to be spinning at speeds of up to 10 degrees per second. In older satellites, such speeds inevitably produce vibrations, affecting image quality.

Most existing satellites have to stay put while snapping images of the planet’s surface, as well as pass over an area several times, as they are able to photograph only a narrow stop of land directly below them. Apart from peeking America’s West Coast, the Beijing-3 was also able to scan along China’s Yangtze River, capturing the area of the winding, 6,300-kilometer-long waterway in one pass, according to the research team.

No Survivors Reported After Airplane Crashes in San Diego County

An airplane crashed Monday evening in the El Cajon area of Southern California, leaving no survivors, authorities said.

The Learjet was scheduled to land at a local airfield when it went down just after 7 p.m, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.

Firefighters found no survivors at the scene, authorities said in a news release. They did not specify how many victims were found. No one was hurt on the ground, the sheriff’s department said in a news release. The medical examiner will investigate and identify the victims once family members have been notified.

The sheriff’s department said the plane was a Learjet, and authorities are uncertain how many people were on board, CNN affiliate KGTV reported. One home was damaged and power lines were knocked down in the area, the sheriff’s department said.

“The plane was scheduled to land at Gillespie Field in El Cajon. At this time, we do not have information on where the plane was coming from or how many were on board. Firefighters were not able to find any survivors at the crash scene,” the sheriff’s department said.

“When firefighters arrived at the scene there was significant rain occurring and there was a large debris field that stretched about 200 feet,” Lakeside Fire Protection District Chief Don Butz told CNN.

Massive Fire Rages at the Docks of Belfast in Northern Ireland

The skies over Belfast, Ireland turned black on Tuesday afternoon as a large fire has engulfed an area near the city’s docks.

Emergency services from Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) were deployed to the docks area of Belfast after a huge fire consumed several buildings during lunchtime.

Large plumes of smoke have been seen across the city, with the fire continuing to rage at the time of this reporting.

The fire broke reportedly broke out at a metal recycling centre near the docks at midday, according to ITV News.

An eyewitness told the local news outlet Belfast Live: “Large bangs and the sounds of car horns can be heard as a pile of scrap metal is ablaze.”

Another man on the scene told the news outlet: “Unfortunately the situation has become somewhat worst than an hour ago and a bigger area is now on fire.

“They are now trying to cool down adjacent buildings.”

EU Drafting Law Allowing Seizure of Private Property During Pandemic Emergencies: Report

The European Union is reportedly drafting a law that will allow Brussels to seize private property during a pandemic emergency.

In a leaked New Year message to his staff, the EU’s Internal Market Commissioner Thierry Breton has outlined plans for a “Single Market Emergency Instrument” that will have a “toolbox of measures” in order to ensure the “security of supply during a crisis”.

The measures are expected to be proposed in the Spring and are believed to potentially include controls on exports and also new powers for the EU to obtain information from companies on production, stockpiles, and their supply chains, POLITICO reports.

In his message, Breton justified the need for the new power by stating that the European Union “will not allow corporate interests to interfere with the greater interest of the European people.”

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has also expressed a desire for an EU Single Market Emergency Instrument to help “fast-track decisions, whenever a critical situation emerges”.

While a bloc-wide system would be novel, several European Union member states have already attempted to seize private goods destined for other nations during the pandemic.

France was accused of displaying “a lack of European solidarity” when it was alleged to have blocked a shipment of “hundreds of thousands” of masks to Italy and Spain in order to bolster domestic supplies.

France also targeted the United Kingdom with aggressive “requisition” policies, including when the Macron government seized three British lorries carrying 130,000 masks and hand sanitiser intended for UK healthcare workers. The healthcare supplies were eventually allowed to be transported to Britain, but only after the UK government stepped in.

At the time, Eurosceptic former Conservative Party leader Sir Iain Duncan Smith commented on the ordeal: “This shows you all you need to know about European co-operation”.

Kids with Learning Disabilities Offered ‘Do Not Resuscitate’ Orders by UK Health Service During Pandemic

British children with learning disabilities were offered ‘do not attempt resuscitation’ orders during the pandemic — for no reason other than the child having a learning disability, families believe.

Britain’s socialised National Health Service (NHS) attempted to give children with learning disabilities ‘do not resuscitate’ notices, knowns as DNARs or DNRs, during the pandemic, The Telegraph reports.

This is a development from earlier reports that adults with learning disabilities and mental illnesses had also received DNAR notices — which potentially led to the death of at least one individual.

‘Do not attempt resuscitation’ notices are orders for healthcare staff to withhold medical treatment from a patient if they look as if they are about to die, such as if their heart stops, and are typically given to people who are extremely frail or have an incurable condition, such as terminal cancer.

A patient can either request a DNAR or a doctor can assign one to a patient without their permission. As the NHS website puts it: “You must be told that a DNACPR form will be/has been completed for you, but a doctor does not need your consent.”

The Telegraph has exposed that GPs (General Practitioners) asked children with learning disabilities if they wanted ‘do not resuscitate orders’ in an alleged effort to ease pressure on the socialised health service, presumably by eliminating the need to treat some people with learning disabilities.

2700 Migrants Apprehended over Christmas Weekend in One Texas Border Sector

Del Rio Sector Border Patrol agents apprehended more than 2,700 migrants over the Christmas weekend, adding to the nearly 30,000 in November.

“The mission never sleeps,” Del Rio Sector Chief Patrol Agent Jason D. Owens said in a tweet on Monday. “Our numbers continue to increase across the board in all metrics.

Owens reported his agents apprehended 2,700 migrants over the Christmas weekend. Those arrests included at least three sex offenders. Several of the groups included more than 130 migrants — a tactic used to tax Border Patrol resources and allow other smuggling activities to proceed unfettered.

In addition, the agents in the Del Rio Sector disrupted 15 smuggling cases and rescued 16 migrants placed in danger by their human smugglers.

These Christmas-weekend apprehensions added to the nearly 30,000 migrants apprehended in the sector during the month of November, Owens tweeted. These apprehensions represent an increase of more than 241 percent over the same month in 2020.

Alexa tells 10-year-old girl to touch live plug with penny

Amazon has updated its Alexa voice assistant after it "challenged" a 10-year-old girl to touch a coin to the prongs of a half-inserted plug.

The suggestion came after the girl asked Alexa for a "challenge to do".

"Plug in a phone charger about halfway into a wall outlet, then touch a penny to the exposed prongs," the smart speaker said.

Amazon said it fixed the error as soon as the company became aware of it.

The girl's mother, Kristin Livdahl, described the incident on Twitter.

She said: "We were doing some physical challenges, like laying down and rolling over holding a shoe on your foot, from a [physical education] teacher on YouTube earlier. Bad weather outside. She just wanted another one."

That's when the Echo speaker suggested partaking in the challenge that it had "found on the web".

The dangerous activity, known as "the penny challenge", began circulating on TikTok and other social media websites about a year ago.

Metals conduct electricity and inserting them into live electrical sockets can cause electric shocks, fires and other damage.

"I know you can lose fingers, hands, arms," Michael Clusker, station manager at Carlisle East fire station, told The Press newspaper in Yorkshire in 2020.

"The outcome from this is that someone will get seriously hurt."

Fire officials in the US have also spoken out against the so-called challenge.

Ms Livdahl tweeted that she intervened, yelling: "No, Alexa, no!"

However, she said her daughter was "too smart to do something like that".

Amazon told the BBC in a statement that it had updated Alexa to prevent the assistant recommending such activity in the future.

"Customer trust is at the centre of everything we do and Alexa is designed to provide accurate, relevant, and helpful information to customers," said Amazon in a statement.

"As soon as we became aware of this error, we took swift action to fix it."
