Are there any lawfags or anyone that can explain why my county is forcing it's residents to pay indigent care fee every year?

basically seems like those of us with insurance have to ay for those without.

I live in a rural county that has a huge lake with multi million dollar lake homes surrounding it.

I asked someone from our Board of Commissioners about it and why and he asked if I attended the meeting and I said no I didn't know about it

He then said well it was in the newspaper…

Seriously? who even gets the newspaper anymore

making residents pay for the uninsured seems pretty socialist to me
