Same here. Occasional milk of magnesia, or honey-whiskey-lemon concoction.
And we all drank out of the same water glass in the kitchen. 1 glass for the entire family, washed daily.
Good one. Those old farts knew what to do, didn't they? My mom used baking soda with water made into a paste. That worked too.
I used to work at a library. Putting wet books in the freezer is standard. It helps dry the paper without damage. When they removed the wet Bible one of them said something about putting the books in the freezer.
Did they say how the contents got wet? Nothing appears to be moldy or falling apart.
