For a Live call-in event especially a White House one, isn't there a 5-10 second delay for live events so they can kill or mute the feed for situations like this? I don't remember where I heard a long time ago that shortly-after the Janet Jackson tit-slip at the Super Bowl broadcasters added this delay to Live events.

So why didn't the technicians just mute the audio?
