Ravenell, 61, of Monkton, declined to comment as he left the federal courthouse. He was accused of helping a client launder drug money and conspiracy to distribute marijuana. That client, Richard Byrd, was convicted in federal court in 2017 on charges of distributing marijuana and cocaine. He was sentenced to 26 years in prison. He was the star witness in the government's case against Ravenell, his former attorney.
