Biden and Putin to speak again amid Russian military buildup at Ukraine’s border

President Joe Biden will speak with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday in an ongoing bid to resolve tensions regarding Ukraine diplomatically, without resorting to military action from any side.

A senior administration official confirmed the call yesterday and said the phone call comes at the request of senior Russian leaders.

Russia has continued to amass new troops near the Ukrainian border in recent days. Russia has reportedly begun diverting commercial rail systems and air assets to support the military buildup. More than 50 BTGs have been deployed around the Ukraine border.
