He took over for Dick Clark. What'd you expect? Ryan got his start in the ATL on a radio station that used to be called "Star 94.1". They always had all the latest/greatest pop hits. It's a different type of radio station now, but that's probably because they've had some management switchover as of late. They've gone retro hits and more hip-hoppy than it used to be.
At any rate, Ryan Seacrest didn't get his spot because he's "so good at what he does".
