Interesting fact: Talladega super speedway would have been built in tiny Hillsborough, NC, just adjacent to Chapel Hill, NC. The city council at the time thought it was too big of a project for the small town to handle and passed on having it built there. So it went to Alabama instead. I could only imagine what Hillsborough, NC (grew up there) would look like had they built the speedway there.
