I live in CO and just heard about them. I'm down near the Springs.
I've been here 24 years and the winds this year are extraordinary. We always get bad winds, almost all year long. This is not unusual. But blowing the roof off my barn - yeah. That's not normal.
I have not seen a DEW, but I'm not looking for them, either.
One thing I did notice earlier this evening was a strange sound high up in teh sky. We're only 30 miles from lots of AF shit and bases, so I see and hear lots of things in the sky over my ranch. But this was different. It lasted a long time and it was obviously some kind of aircraft, but not anything I've ever hear. Was about 4:45 Mountain time.
This fires are in very liberal towns. That entire part of the state was taken over by "Boulderites" over the past 20 years. I'm very truly sorry for all the destruction and loss.
