Last night, there was talk in here around a new documentary about the Vatican and Benedict XVI's resignation in 2013.

>Fr Alexis Bugnolo puts forth the hypothesis according to which Benedict XVI's "faked resignation" is part of a plan to expose and trap the fifth column.

I'd like to point out that Benedict retaining part of the magisterium after his resignation is not new or even controversial information. However Fr Bugnolo's idea of the resignation being invalid and Benedict making the move in order to trap the 'deep Church players' is thought-provoking.

For catholicanons and others interested in the matter, I see a parallel there with Dr Robert Sungenis' thesis of council Vatican 2 itself being a setup by God to eventually out the progressives and masons while having them think they've succeeded in subverting the Church.

Dr Sungenis is a catholic apologist and theologian, and here's the audio where he explains what he thinks happened with Vatican 2, i.e. why its results are so removed from the stated objectives.
