Ghislaine Maxwell's husband told her in a prison phone call that he had 'moved on' with another woman, ending their secretive marriage: report

Ghislaine Maxwell's marriage with her husband ended when she was in jail after he told her he had moved on with another woman, sources told the Mail on Sunday.

In 2016, Maxwell secretly married Silicon Valley entrepreneur Scott Borgerson, who came into the limelight in 2020 after Maxwell was accused of helping convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein abuse girls.

A person who was a friend of Maxwell's told the Mail that there was a phone call between them when she was in jail, which became "confrontational."

Borgerson told Maxwell he had "moved on" and was seeing someone else, the person told the Mail. Their marriage was over before the trial began, the person added.

Another person told the Mail that Borgerson didn't attend Maxwell's trial.

Maxwell was convicted on five of six sex trafficking charges on Wednesday and faces a potential sentence of 65 years in prison.

The Mail's report included pictures of Borgerson with another woman near his home in Massachusetts, naming her Kris McGinn and saying she was a yoga teacher and a writer.

The friend of Maxwell's told the Mail that the pair hope the marriage can be "dissolved amicably and quickly."

In a letter, part of a larger bail application, Borgerson called Maxwell a "wonderful and loving person" and personally offered millions to secure her release on bail.

Maxwell's brother, Ian Maxwell, told Insider in an interview in October that her family was "really surprised" to find out that she was married to Borgerson. At the time, he didn't know if Borgerson and Maxwell were still together.

2 armed drones intercepted as they approached Iraqi base hosting US troops: report

Two drones were intercepted Monday as they neared an Iraqi base that had been housing American forces on the anniversary of the U.S. assassination of a top Iranian commander, a report said.

Reuters, citing Iraqi security officials, reported that the base was located near Baghdad’s international airport. The airport was the site of the Jan. 2, 2020, U.S. drone strike that resulted in the death of Qassem Soleimani, the former commander of the elite Quds Force.

The Pentagon did not immediately respond to an after-hours email from Fox News. Former President Trump called Soleimani "the world’s top terrorist" at the time and Tehran has vowed to hold those who killed him responsible.

The Jerusalem Post said Monday that its website and Twitter account were targeted by "pro-Iranian hackers" who posted an ominous image of a model of the Israeli Dimona nuclear facility under a ballistic missile attack.

"We are close to you where you do not think about it," the text in the image read.
