i am a licensed psychotherapist
ask me anything
well, that might give away my identifying info if you figured out which state
so i better stay anonymous since this is an anon board
bc i am anon just like anyone here
that's a really decent question, actually.
why?
why do some of you hate that which you don't even know?
i say i'm a licensed therapist, which i am, and no one wants to ask any real questions, except about my license, which you know i cannot give away here
how do you know what i have or haven't done?
i've never even been on redditt
not in my clinical opinion
you stole that
just a couple of decent questions
i expected more from "autists"
nevertheless, there is a lot of hate for therapists on this board
you must have experienced a lot of hurt at the hands of a therapist ?
i hate that others have hurt you and caused you pain that you have been unable to overcome
my job as a therapist has always been to help any of my clients to think for themselves, even in the midst of them believing that they cannot
i prefer night shift
but i thought i'd see what responses i would get
lots of hate
but no real questions about a profession that most (even my spouse) doesn't really understand - ie, lots of misinformation about what therapy truly is
it doesn't matter
just having fun here
been here, digging and lurking since feb 2018, so i'm old anon, red-pilled, hard core
but i do help people who want to be helped
that's it
interestingly, that is truly the most anxiety-provoking scenario for almost all demographics
my advice is preparedness
when you aren't prepared, practiced, then it makes it far worse
yes, you are correct, sir
i didn't post any of my credentials
i gave my profession and offered to answer any questions b/c the profession, generally, is disliked on this board, some of it is likely well-directed hate, but some of it is due to misinformation
judgmental, you are
i have not "talked" at all
still, you ask no questions but regurgitate your own group think hatred
that is certainly accurate for a large % of them, like lawyers, doctors, teachers, etc
the profession has been comped, no doubt about it
but there are good ones, who care, and are skilled at really helping
