Thirdhand pickup truck in 1995 for 24k.

Half a million miles so far on original engine.

Wouldn’t sell it for less than 50k.

Nah, just kidding, I wouldn’t sell it.

Hardware store the other day, looking at a chest freezer. Beyond earshot of coworkers, clerk (old enough to have retired 20 years ago), struck up convo about the horrible quality of modern appliances because he was REQUIRED to try and up-sell me on an extended warranty…

By combination of Federal “rules”, manufacturers, wholesale and retail PROFIT interests… the CHANCE of getting a lemon are one in three. ONE IN THREE.

Where oh where is there a maker making products worth a shit? NOWHERE in the ‘regulated’ market. Paying taxes for ‘rules’ that are in fact counterproductive to efficiency, environment, longevity and reliability is completely asinine. I still don’t know where this Q/Devolution thing is going… but at least We are having more talk about this suicidal Titanic ship-of-state helmed by nincompoops.
