I think there's a possibility that congress can choose whoever the fuck they want as POTUS. I also don't think it's black letter law that electors have to be chosen by a vote of the populace only. That's just a formality or gesture that individual states may provide.

That would explain why the MSM can do whatever they want on election night, and why the SC called the fraud case moot. Voting doesn't matter.

CinC isn't the same as POTUS, in this regard. Military, I think, will go by an election if it is legit, not in a legal sense, rather that they can ascertain the mood of the public.
