Dr. Anthony Fauci said recently that he does not plan on retiring soon but if were to step down as the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, the 81-year-old would reportedly be eligible for the largest federal retirement package in American history.

According to Forbes auditors at OpenTheBooks.com, Fauciโ€™s 55 years of service in the federal government qualifies him for an annual retirement package of more than $350,000 which would increase through annual cost-of-living adjustments.

Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and President Joe Biden's chief medical advisor, sat for a wide-ranging interview over the weekend with CBS's Margaret Brennan.

"Sen. Cruz told the attorney general you should be prosecuted," said Brennan, referring to an October committee hearing where the Texas senator called on Merrick Garland to appoint a special prosecutor to investigate Fauci over gain-of-function research.

"Yeah," Fauci replied. "I have to laugh at that. I should be prosecuted? What happened on January 6, senator?"

Brennan then asked Fauci if he thought he'd been made into a scapegoat by the right.

"You'd have to be asleep not to figure that one out," he replied.

This guy has had HIV since 1985.

When stay-at-home orders for the coronavirus were announced in March, some Pittsburghers who have lived with HIV for decades felt what they described as post-traumatic stress from the first epidemic they lived through.

โ€œItโ€™s like dรฉjร  vu all over again,โ€ thought Marc Wagner, who was first diagnosed with HIV in 1985. โ€œAnd this one could take you out much faster.โ€
