25 years ago, I decided to start homeschooling my son.

He was in 3rd grade at a small private Christian school.

Some of our friends started homeschooling their kids and my son asked me if I would start homeschooling him. I had been working some odd jobs to make ends meet and was not opposed to quitting them to stay home with my son.

So I went to a homeschool conference and the next year we started homeschooling. I bought a boxed 4th grade curriculum for $300. I didn't even need half of it. So the next year I spent even less. We used the library and other resources. We ended up homeschooling all the way thru high school and then he went to a Junior College a mile from our house.

The Socialist Public School System is nothing but a money pit to spend our hard earned tax dollars.

The schools are always boo-hooing that that need more money and smaller class sizes.

If you are able to homeschool your kids, you should seriously consider it. Especially nowadays with all of the gender dysphoria and CRT nonsense that they are throwing at kids.

Parents are capable and competent to educate their own children if they just give it a try.

I wish more people would trust themselves to try it. No one loves your kids more than you do. No one understands your kids more than you do.

People always say, What about socialization?

Well, homeschoolers are very good at socializing their kids positively and avoiding the negative socialization that comes from brick & mortar schools.

We used to go to co-op outings all the time. My son had lots of friends, and I knew all of them personally and I knew their parents.

I hope & pray that people will see the light that it is not the government's responsibility to educated children. It is a parent's responsibility to educate their children.

And now their socialization involves stand/sitting 6 feet apart from each other and wearing a mask.

Or staying at home in front of a computer.

So much for socialization.

When we started homeschooling we used to arrange play dates, sleep overs, outings, field trips, bowling, tennis, all kinds of thing for kids to do together. Way more "socialization" than the schools have.

The first year I homeschooled by son, he was 8 yrs. old, I asked him if he missed talking to his friends at school. He was always a serious child and he looked me straight in the eye and said, "we get in trouble at school if we talk to each other." That clinched it for me.
